I have a set on my mustang. Their not the stickiest out their. They take some time to get heat in them. I would say their use would be more suited to lapping than solo II.
I've done a fair bit of racing on the new R1's and they need a lot of heat in them to work their best. Definitely not an autox compound. They're designed for lapping days and road racing. Even for SoloSprint, they won't be a great choice because with the 3 lap format you won't have enough time to get them fully up to temp.

Would the slow heat buildup make them more durable Dave? How well do they respond to multiple heat cycles? I'm looking for a durable, sticky tire for lapping days and conserve my Hoosiers for race day.
Cheers!
Yes indeed, they are amazingly durable. At the 25 Hours of Thunderhill they were by far the most durable r-compound in use. They can also take a lot of heat cycles, so they're the perfect lapping day warrior tire. They're really designed for this type of use as well as road racing.
