This is a general reminder to all those who are thinking of taking the SoloSprint track driving school at the Mosport DDT on May 9-10 that the registration starts at the Open House at CSC racing in Newmarket on April 5 at 1 PM.
The school is directed towards those people just getting into track driving and spends equal time in classroom, skidpad and on-track exercises. An approved helmut and provincial driver's licence is required but it is not necessary to have a race car or fully prepped track car to attend and get a lot out of the school. We have seen cars ranging from sub $1000 primer painted pre-owned cars to brand new $100,000 vehicles and all have had a good time. All cars will be travelling at speeds that would lead to a conviction under the street racing laws if done on the street.
We unabashedly hope that a number of students will go on to participate in SoloSprint but realise that the school itself is enough of a thrill for some. The price of the 2 day school includes a free entry to 1 SoloSprint event at either the DDT or Shannonville tracks.
The point of bringing this up now is that last year the school was 75% sold at the Open House and has been sold out for the last 4 years. Enrollment is limited to 36 students so if you know of someone who wants (or NEEDS) to take this school, consider coming to the Open House at CSC or risk sitting on the waiting list.
