I'm looking at the rules and I think I have my answer, but it'd be nice to have a second... 3rd or 4th opinion.

'00-03 S2000.. with an '04+ Engine?

Rules say:
The vehicle from which the component is taken must be of the same body configuration and type and have the same drive train configuration as that on which the component will be installed. Same body configuration for the purposes of update/backdate is defined as a specific model generation of a vehicle where the body style remained nearly identical between years.
The Street Prepared category vehicle listings shall define the model years eligible for update/backdate of a particular vehicle.

The body design is the same and they're both FR (Front Engine, RWD) drivetrain. And in the rulebook under Super Stock/Street Prepared (for what I assume is "A/SS" and "ASP" ("printing" error on the PDF?) it just lists Honda S2000. No year differentiation.

I'm good then yes?

This is the important bit for your concerns. I forget who with (maybe Pete?) but I had a discussion about this a few years ago. The consensus was that when the rule says "all" or year 19xx-20xx then any cars in those range can be part donors. But if the SP class rule says, say: "19xx-1998 and 1999-present" then you can't update back date between a 98 and 99 because a clear distinction is being made between the generations(whether they are in the same class or not).

Also, it seems to me, if the body styles look significantly different then it could be protestable (and I messy one wouldn't want to deal with) unless you receive a clarification from the director before any protest can be filed. I would NOT say that the change in the S2000 is significant enough to warrant a generation difference in the body style.
