Can someone who as run this event before either post a picture of the track or help me put some of my fears to rest.

All I can think of or picture is a skinny track with tires on either side just waiting to remove my fiberglass front bumper.

I should really know better by now, considering the level of safety and concern that goes into these events.

Thanks in Advance.:)

Yup, that's about right... just don't go off course and you'll be fine. I've got lots of pics, but no scanner :-(

It is narrow, but I wouldn't say it's dangerous, and the tires aren't piled, they're just laid side by side through most of the course, a few feet off of the sides. I find that I drive differently there, so as to make sure I don't go off. You'll see when you get there, it's a great track!

There tires lieing down? So what prevents a roll over if someone broad sides the tire barracade?

I wouldn't call it a barricade, just tires laying on the ground, most likely designed to keep the Go-Karts from going off and onto another part of the track. I've raced here a half dozen times and have yet to see a major off-track excursion. It's fun Marsh, you'll like it.

Hmmm well I'm still concerned but I guess I see when I get up there.

Thanks for the info.

Ok after doing some more searching I found some pictures of the track on a website for people who race little 50cc bikes.

My fears are pretty well alleviated now.

Link to website 2 small pictures. (http://www.cmgonline.com/articles/CMGpre99/piero/piero602.html)

OK, so dents are possible, but injuries are near impossible. I can live with that.

I checked out those pics, they are quite old and most of those tires in the pics have been removed.
Just thought I'd let people know.

Yes and you can NOT series register at the event.

Sorry to those that aren't series registered and would like to run,as the organizer I had to decide how to make this event as fun as possible with as many runs as possible. The track layout only permits 1 car at a time and with most people likely running mid 50 second runs it will be tough to get the series people the # of runs they deserve if hoards of people show up.
If the regional event goes well the club is intending to hold up to 3 club days there so anyone can run if they wish.

I'll post the dates as soon as they're known.

See everyone tomorow.
