Anyone know of the best deal & service when it comes to (late 60s) muscle car insurance in Ontrario? I am coming from BC, where we have pretty straightforward insurance...third party liablity is from Ins Corp of BC (ICBC), collision and comprehsive through ICBC or another competitor. I don't know about the price comparisons between the two provinces, but I hear Ontario is a bit more complex with all the choices, privatization and all.

Guess, Grundy Worldwide, Hagerty etc. who advertize on SPEED TV don't serve Canada/Ontario[?]

I insure my car late 60's musclecar with this company. Very fair rates. They're very popular here.

http://www.lant-ins.ca/I can confirm Lant as a good place to deal with. I had my 86 Z28 insured with them for almost 2 years. Never had to file a claim with them though.

lant is the way to go, but they do have conditions

but for the price, coverage, and they're mod friendly

there's not many options out there

I second Lant and their Silver Wheel package. Good stuff.

Thanks, guys.

Lant Stipulates:
Daily Vehicle Insurance - Every licensed driver must maintain a daily usage vehicle with insurance under his or her own name.

I wasn't necessarily planning to have a daily driver...wonder if a motorbike qualifies. Will email them to check. Which brings me to...

Can anyone recommend a decent motorbike insurance company? Lant doesn't offer it.

The restrictions on Lant were not that problematic for me as I did not want to drive my 83 to work every day and had a second vehicle which I preferred to use as a beater/daily.

What I didn't like was the fact that their policy was limited to 1 mil. liability which isn't enough IMO.

Edit:

If you end up going through a regular insurance company and need to have the car appraised find out from the agent what the deal is with Form 19A and 19B. In order to recover the full appraisal amount you have to use one form or the other regarding the appraisal. It was an issue a few years ago and I expect it still is but either way it's something to check into so you don't get screwed if you have to collect.

I had my first 944 insured through Lant. The car was rear ended and written off. They were very easy to deal with, didnt ask a whole lot of questions and paint out the appraised value. I have been using them for the past 5 years.
