Announcing the Solo 1 Club Challenge!

As a way of fostering friendly rivalry amongst the clubs and participation in our sport we've created a Solo 1 Club Challenge.

Individual competitors will contribute points towards their club's totals based on the inverse of their event ranking: in other words if there were 40 entrants then the top scorer contributes 40 points, the 10th place 31 points, and 40th place 1 point.

This way all competitors will contribute to their club score, rewarding both participation and high placements...

The following figures are based on individuals' declared club affiliations and are an aggregate for the first 8 events of the 2003 season:

1) HADA 1863
2) TAC 1809
3) OMSC 1080
4) MCO 560
5) PMSC 366
6) BAC 354
7) CCC 276
8) MLRC 114
9) St.Lac 37
10) BARC 30
11) TLMC 12
12) HRC 11

Please note that points were split between clubs for the few individuals who indicated a 'dual' affiliation and that 68 points were scored by competitors with no affiliation (school and temp licences).

With four events to go it is clear we'll be witnessing a dogfight between HADA and TAC for top honours, and between PMSC and BAC for fifth place!

This is really embarassing. I keep telling the OMSC exec to stop fooling around with Solo 2 and get more interested in Solo1. HADA seems to be a really involved club but to lose ( and badly) to TAC is a hard cross to bear. How about a good last minute stand OMSC ??
