I have pretty much resigned myself to the fact that I do not have time to repair tranny and modify car to pass emissions before next PITTL Sept 6. (although you never know  )
I am targeting this thread at you A-mod people (all except Curtis)
I am looking for a co-drive for Sept 6.
Test your skill against #61
See if I can break your car too
You all saw how I toyed with Wes lol ;)
and if these aren't enough incentives I will make up a few more.
Think about Miataboi

If I can spring a set of street wheels for the RX-7 I'd be happy to have a co-driver again. The car has beaten Jamie this year and doesn't need much more than tyre pressure tweaking to take out Watson for an A-Mod/ASS win.
Here are the specs: gutted interior, single exh w/punched pre-cats, R-compound, cut springs, tonnes of neg-camber, GXL sway bars, aluminum hood...

"G"
What you need the street wheels for?
I have R comps as well. Your 5 lug right?

After all those far away WOSCA events, my R's aren't street legal anymore...and sliding along the highway in the rain wasn't as much fun as I thought it would be.
I'm 4-bolt. I just phoned my contact and I should be able to get three rims by Sunday, but I'll have to find tyres. My donut can be the fourth wheel, heh heh.
He may also have a transmission for you, so I'll check him out on Sunday and get in touch with you to see if you can get your car back together instead.

Thanks for looking into it
I been driving baldies to events as long as I can remember and never been caught.
Although catching a thunder shower a couple of times has scared the crap out of me.
Besides not going to rain on the 6th
I hope to get me tranny onto a work bench in the next couple of days. I feel that after the many, many $ I spent on the unit in the car it would be a crying shame not to use it. On the other hand if I get a working unit for dick all dollars I could swap it in and repair my rebuild at my leisure.
I also am supposed to pass etest before Sept. That wont happen I may wait till next spring. I am not opposed to taking my chances driving after Sept 1 so not much of an issue. I can save money by leaving lisencing till spring.
I have a header stock size exhaust tube (2.4375 I believe) was thinking to buy a 3" high flow cat and install where my presilencer is and replumb air line into it.. Will this get my by etest? Do you have any suggestions?
Curtis says worked for him.

I'm hoping dick all dollars is enough to get it. :D
I'm sure you'll pass the e-test with that setup as long as you follow these simple tips: (1) get the cat really hot and test immediately without switching off (leave it idling if you have to) (2) use new or clean plugs & oil (3) consider changing your fuel filter. Also make sure you don't have a leaky injector.
As far as I know, the purpose of the pre-cats is to provide cleaning quickly after the engine is started--small mass means quick rise to optimal temperature. The main cat does the real job. Even if you get stopped for a sniffer test, the Wankel keeps everything so frickin hot anyway it'll likely pass that too.
If that didn't convince you, maybe this will: the '87 RX-7 ran much cleaner than my '97 car with OBD!!

Technically I guess all I need is working "loner" tranny for 8 months or so.;)

Derek, I wasn't able to check out the tranny on the weekend, so I'll do it tonight. BTW, the guy's in Mississauga.
Did you get the cat installed yet?

Havent had any quality car time lately.
I figured I would make the car drivable first. Then buy the CAT
