Hey guys and girls, please tell me this Bracebridge event sucked. I went to the solo1 event at TMP and well I allmost got a timed lap in but I had a little problem that ended my day before it really got started. I was going down the front straight and was about to shift to fourth gear and well I couldn't get it into that gear so I pushed the clutch in again and tried to put it into fourth again well this time I got a gear but deffinitly the wrong gear(cable shifter lines and a worn out ball on the shifter equals no feel) and at full throttle and release of the clutch results in a nice large miss from at least one cylinder. So I now have my car at my parking lot at work and will hopefully be able to start pulling it apart.

lol .. I didn't go to Bracebridge either.
Will B1 be an underfilled class today?

Sorry to hear about your technical troubles .. that sucks!

Is it just a head gasket or did you break the transmission too? (That's not an interference engine, is it?)

Sorry man, I hope it's not too serious. :(

No the head isn't leaking I think and everybody I talked to think it is bent valves I think the first cyilnder near the passenger side because the plug had a bit of oil on it and the other plugs were all clean. There wasn't any smoke coming out either so I know it was burning any coolant or oil I also saw the Check engine light flashing on the way home so I am going to hook up the tech two and see if is somthing ignition related first.

I'm sorry to hear about your car troubles Ryan,we all missed you today,Renalto's car had what appears to be diff issues on route to my place on saturday. So his car went home a flat bed without having any fun today either.
BTW I think the event was well received and everyone had good things to say,I think you would've liked it for sure.

Hope you get the sorted and back together in time for Peterbourgh!!

Nope, that gave me the win, and 100 extra points (organiser points for the TAC event) for good measure :D

Renalto had car issus too that sucks, but atleast it wasn't his own fault. I shouldn't have raced on Saturday but for some dumb reason I decided to go. I don't think I will do anymore solo1's I just don't see them to be very cost affective I can spend the same amount of money at a regular lapping day and feel like I have had a fun day on track and not have to marshall.

Hey Ryan,

Sorry to hear about your car... Hopefully you get it resolved without too much dinero's involved.

But sorry to say, the event to day was fantastic. You would have loved the amount of grip everyone was getting on this surface, it was amazing. Until the sun went away then it got slick.

What happened to Renato's car anyway?

Ryan, without a doubt this was the most fun event this year.
No cones to speak of, but even then some of us did hit them

Interesting use of the off course rule...."if you touch the grass you are off course" (which really made sense.....)

It was tons of fun, no marshalling, the weather held up and it took me back 25 years ago to my days of special stage rallying, the roads were just as tight and twisty then.....(only they didn't care if you went on the grass....lol)

If they run this event next year it is without a doubt a must go to event...

many thanks to Tom and his small group of volunteers for putting on a great event..

Tony

I must say it was a great day for a solo event. The track was interesting, and easier to navigate rather then using pilons. even though i didn't participate.

it looked fun to be on, and i do hope next year i will be able to try the track out.

..Nothing beats a road trip btw. esp coming home from god's country on a sunday :p
( if people only knew how to use the right pedal on the hwy. :D )

p.s. subaru guys, and every1 else. thanks for the convoy. :)

Ugh! Left Bracebridge at 5pm and just got in the door now. 6 hours and 22 minutes. Mind you almost half of that was just getting to Barrie!

Next time I'm taking the back roads the whole way.

Never the less the long drive couldn't ruin a great weekend! Thanks to Tom and all the members of M.A.X. for a fun day and good job organizing. (my worst result of the year and the most fun I've had so far).

didn't I see you stop for coffee Marsh?
That must have been a big help later :P
I took the back roads, and it was a fairly easy drive, despite weekend traffic.

Hey, my car got flat bedded home last night as well.

I made it out on hwy 11 up shifted to second and was stuck in second. Nursed it off the highway (Thanks for stopping Leanne) and called CAA. That was 3:45, got home at 10:05.

A total surreal experience that I will hopefully document.....just so I can laugh at what a freakin loser I am!

I feel your pain Ryan!

I was going to offer to follow you home, but you split before I got the chance, sorry to hear about your troubles...

As Nissan Racer says Shift Happens! :(

Sorry to hurry about the problems you both had (Ryan & Wes) but it was a really fun event. I can't wait to go back up to Barrie err I mean Bracebridge. The whole day was fun even the drive home in the traffic.

P.S. I wonder do you guys think Jill had anything to do with that? Thanks again Todd for leading the convoy.

The end of a perfect day, I say.

At least I can blame my pathetic performance yesterday on something other than myself!:)

I wasn't around until the very end so I have no idea how I, or anybody else, did.

I told Andrew in the Beetle the same thing. When we were putting his allseasons back on we noticed that his front right strut bushing was gone. We had about a 3/4 inch play in all directions. The vibration was crazy on the way home. It felt like the lugs were loose. Atleast its not a very costly item to fix :(
