Just wanted to thank the 48 competitors that made the trek north for todays event!.
I think everyone enjoyed themselfs at the easy pace of todays event.Because of the late rain and that everyone wanted to hit the highway(now you know what I go thru and don't hang around for fun runs etc!:) )I didn't get to thank you all in person or make mention of the relatively few club members that turned out to ensure no competitors had to work(we HAVE very few members).
So again thanks and we'll see most of you again in Peterbough.
Who knows maybe I can do another one next year!

Tom, thanks to you and your group for a great event. I thoroughly enjoyed it as I think most of the competitors did.
The only bad part was the 5 hour drive home.......YUCK!!!!!
Thanks
Tony
Tom,
Thanks a lot for a great day. No complaints (I didn't go off) LOL. It was a lot of fun driving the kart track.
I'll go again, if you set another one up.
About that drive home... UGH.. 400 bumper to bumper all the way to practically Hwy 7. We had a really nice interlude in Barrie though, Jill took really good care of us. :p

You made in only 5 hours! Which route did you take. Murray and I gave up on the 400 at Highway 89. We were going much faster through the counties then we were on the 400.

Marsh, I stopped for gas in Gravenhurst, (Sunoco) and made it to 89 (cookstown) in 2 3/4 hours.thats about a 50kph pace!!!!!!!!!
from there I took 10 south to 24 and across 24 to guelph. then 6 south to the 401 to London.
I was lucky as once I got on 89 the traffic flowed very well. Still all those small towns make you think you are crawling.
The 401 was steady at 120-125 so it was smooth sailing once I got there.
That traffic was brutal on 11 and the 400, it makes me wonder if having a cottage up there would really be worth it, there is no way I could fight that traffic every weekend.
On a side note I have discovered that no one lane travells faster then any other as I always seemed to end up beside the same car....lol,, no matter how many lane changes I made....go figure.

What an awesome day in Bracebridge. Thanks so much for such a well organized event guys. No delays, no major incidents and a great little track. Anyone got $700,000 I can borrow? LOL
For those of you that got stuck in traffic, I heard part of the problem was caused by a naked guy doing jumping jacks on the side of the road. Anyone want to own up to that?
Lucky for me, my route took me down Hwy. 35. What I nice drive but a little strange without snow and an ice racer in tow.
Once again, a great day M.A.X.! COngrats! Let's do it again next year.

I had a great day too, guess I should have told everyone to follow me. Down #11 to #169, then to #48/#12 south, #48 west then you could have gone down Woodbine to #404, very little traffic, the odd slow up at intersections but I made it home in about an hour and a half...most of that was from hwy#11

I had a really great time yesterday well worth the trek all the way up north.
Getting home wasn't bad 4.5 hours at a relatively smooth pace.
Thanks to everyone who made yesterday possible!

I had a great day too.
I'm sorry that I only got slower and slower after my second run, but I still enjoyed myself.
Like the rest of you, I cannot understand why people would want to do that drive EVERY weekend. It's just INSANE.
Thanks Tom and M.A.X.

Good event...
I was almost bored, though... with NO MARSHALLING!!! ;) Good job! Joe was a BEAST out there! The WRX's looked like WRC cars off the line and into turn 1!!!
It was a "rustic" paddock... no probs... I now have a grasshopper farm in my car!!! I'm buying chocolate tonight to melt-up and create some dessert!!! ;)
Tough on tires...
Few constant radius turns made it fun and kept you on your toes...
Good & cheap lunch!
That Corolla is a drift machine.
I feel the need to post the usual complaints:
1) The slalom section was too tight
2) The course didn't allow me to "choose my lines" and to take "different lines" very much...
3) The gates were too close together
4) The course favored small cars like Miatas... not all cars are Miata's you know!

Yeah, great day Tom, very well done. The drive home wasn't too bad, I dragged a few guys (Joe, Pete, Kerry, Dave, Andrew and his buddies) off 11 at the 9th line of Oro (just between Barrie and Orillia) and we took Ridge Road into Barrie, I'm sure I save 'em at least an hour which we gladly used up for dinner at the waterfront in Barrie, what did that place have to do with Owls anyway?
Great Day!

Tod (stewpidass), wasn't it obvious. The rustic decor using raw pine furniture, exemplified the obvious assets and embodyements. It was nature all around, breasted with all the amenities of the beautiful outdoors. Nature was so abundant in that environment that it was cleavageing its way out of the tight confines of the establishment.
Owls provided the personification of all these embodyments. Not to mention the condiments.
Muahahahaha!!!!

Glad to see everyone had a good time. I guess the drive home sucked bad though. It only took me 14 minutes to get home ;)
To beat traffic, I wonder if Saturday would be better next time...leaving Muskoka at 5 P.M. on a Sunday is suicide.
I truly have to say, there was some fast damn cars running there. I had my jaw dropping a few times. A few Subaru's, a blow torch, and a mind-blowing Firechicken come to mind.....DAMN !!!!
I now know that I need some serious suspension work, R-Compounds, and reduced body flex to even be somewhat fast. My suspension and Azenis are great for street, but they had no grip on the track.
It has been a couple years since I have did a solo, and now I have been bitten by the bug again. I think I will see more of you "regulars" next year. I just need a bunch of parts........or I could buy Toms car.........hmmmmm.\
P.S. That HUGE grind you all must have heard when I went for second gear...I was wearing sandals and my food slipped off the clutch

Thanks guys,weird how not one negative post yet(except miataboi-but he don't count:D )
Wonder how a hooter's place would do beside a certain small road course?I think having a mans 2 favorite forms of entertainment on hand could be very profitable indeed:cool:
As for the corolla drift machine-those little rain tires didn't help to keep it pointed the right much did it!funny how the guy making the speech about staying on course not pushing too hard blah blah was the same guy with 3 o.c.'s in 5 runs!:o
On the bright side those little skinny tires still had me only a hair over 1/2 second behind Tony in the mini-not too bad at all,I thought for sure the track record would have been broken yesterday.Came close but not quite to the 49.4 second run I've done in the corolla!;)

I'm a little disappointed I missed out on a great AutoX event. Though I did have mucho fun at Cayuga driving someone elses beastie instead. :)
Plus even with packing up, dinner, swapping cars and unpacking at home, it still didn't take 5 hours. :) Yikes.

Seriously, listen to Logan-somebody buy my car!!!
I forgot to mention earlier that I noticed Luca in the impreza was smokin' to finish 3rd in BSS on street tires!! great job!
Congrats to Peter in the WRX for setting FTD,I could see the course turned into a true rally cross with paved and dirt sections for sure(you'd think I WAS rallycrossing on that last run:o )
Chris(andretti)you did fine with a four door granny's car that ends up B-mod in a cruel twist of the rules. In my mind your car should just been classed in C1 the same as the preludes root class and then just add up the prep points for suspension and the header(means you'd be in CSS)Just to clarify I mean that in some cases engine swaps simply don't warrant the automatic B-mod classing.

I noticed that too. Right from his first run he was on a tear, and it showed!

Luca is always a machine. I've been battling with him in my head all season. Right from the first event in Picton I knew things were going to be tough for me! If he had the same tires I do, it'd be a different story!

I hear ya !
Oh well, I just wanted to beat my old times on that track.........and my brother..hehe. I knew I would be bent over and done dry for having a swap.
So Tom, just for curiosity sake, what price is the corolla going for? with trailer? PM me or mail me if you like. I need to weigh all my options.
