A = Autocross
R = Road Course

Yup, you got it right.

That is a pretty old tire and who knows how they were stored. I would not be spending a lot of money on them for sure.

$225 for 4 tires used once.How is that?He said they were in dark bags and in a heated garage but I have no idea if that is true as they are in montreal.I was kind of shying away from them because of the distance because I am taking his word for it and cant see them before I buy them.I think I may pass and find something more local.

What size are they?

What are your expectations from them?

Do you still have to pay for shipping and mounting?

Used once? One autocross? Maybe he was lapping with them or used them for qualifying for a hot lap.

You should be able to buy new 888s and drive them to the events for about $600. They will last a long time.

I wouldn't recommend anyone buy a used set of A3S04 for that price.

My former co-driver corded a 'new' set of those tires at Slalom @ Slemon back in 2007. He bought them from Hoosier for $270 (discontinued) and had them mounted for that weekend.

Eighteen runs later (two drivers, two days, a few reruns) there were bits of cord shoring on the outside edges up front. On a lowered Miata with lots of camber.

I'm the person selling them.
I have never used these and don't autoX, so I don't know about longevity, but 18 runs for $270 works out to $15 per run, or $3.75 per run per tire.
Is that a really high cost per run for a gummy autoX tire? What is the expectation?

They came to me from a close friend as part of a rim purchase and I just don't want to waste them by burning them up on a road course...even if its just for time-trial laps.

As for R888s for $600 a set, well, that sounds like a truly astounding deal, but they're not in the same league, although theyd probably last forever. From personal experience, I know they're not great on light cars compared to some other tires...at least on a road course. I can't imagine what it would take to heat them up sufficiently for autox. Depends on what the expectation is I guess...

thanks

Where can you get R888 for $600 a set? I am hunting for some R-comps now.

If you're registered for any one of the CASC-OR racing disciplines (series) you get code-1 discount from the prices below. If you're not registered for any of the series but are a member of a CASC-OR club, you get code 2 discount which is 35% off.

If you're a member of SPDA or MCO you automatically get 40% Code-1 discount.

Hope this helps.

Thanks.

There's a process to follow.

1) Get your toyoracing number by registering with teamtoyo.ca
2) They will process your information and verify with either the "club" or "CASC" which discount code you qualify for
3) They will send you an email with your confirmation number and primary / secondary size indicated. This confirmation number is required and you need to present it to the dealer so that they can get re-imbursed by Toyo Canada.

As for dealers, I know who our club goes to, you can click the link below, under my sig. Otherwise you can click the link -> http://www.teamtoyo.ca/Toyo_Dealers/Toyo_Dealers_temp.asp

Hope this helps.
