greetings

As the title suggests Im new to autoslalom and am interested in trying it out. Ive been looking around the forum as well as a few websites but it all seems a little confusing/intimidating to me.

Confusing, in that Im having difficulty finding events. Though there are ones listed on the solo2 ontario website (http://solo2.casc.on.ca/schedule/schedule.php) , from my understanding they are a series of races with about one a month with a small entry fee for each with two "autoslalom schools" and an open house. Can one just enter one of two of the events by paying the fee listed on the website without having attended the two school sessions?

And intimidating in that my car is in no way a racecar, just an average unmodified car. i just want to run it through a course for fun.

Thank you and I apologize if any of these have been covered in a previous post.

I suggest you run "club" level events for fun factor.
The only listed events on your link are "Regional" events which, in theory, are a step above club events.
There are MANY unmodified cars at these events.
The next event in our "Push It To The Limit" series is June 7 http://www.wiredmotorsports.com/pitl/
Our classifications are very simple as well.

I would plug some of the other series (such as HADA) but ultimately, I don't get around much and can not speak accurately about any of them.

HADA Motorsport Club's autoslalom series information can be found on our website - www.hadamotorsport.com/autoslalom. Our series is a "club series" much like PITTL and we always encourage new drivers to our events, whether you car is stock or highly modified. The emphasis is seat time and with more seat time the better driver you will become, regardless of car.

Our next event is a month away (June 27th) and we hope to see you there. But be sure to check out PITTL events as well as they are very well run events with a really good group of people.

You will find good info in this thread also: http://www.casc.on.ca/forums/showthread.php?t=16709
I was in kinda the same situation :)
You're not very far from Barrie and if you're willing to travel they have a good event there also, this is what I've heard from people: http://www.s94743584.onlinehome.us/index.html

Great stuff, im hoping to check out the events posted.

I came across the HADA site in my searches and noticed it was a Honda Acura club run event so I wasnt sure if id be out of place showing up in a non-Honda car. But Im assuming most events are open to any make.

You could just buy one on your way there. ;)

Joking aside, definitly come to a club event. Lots of cars that go to HADA are non honda cars.

Oh and the TLMC events are the best... Not that I bias or anything.
