LS1 motor owners... wow.

Someone with an LS1 just ran 10.90@127mph with no traction using a single turbo. On (get this):

o stock motor (yep, hyper(eu/pa)tectic slugs n'all)
o stock suspension
o full weight

Sharp-eyed people will note that he had traction problems... the car should have run a bit faster. He is aware of this, because 20 feet out, it raised one tire. ;)

Whoa! They're finally getting the aftermarket going... and is it ever going! When I officially retire the Rocket from Solo-1 duty in 2003 (or they give me another two points :D ) I'll be going single turbo with my built motor. Eek! 900hp? Well... I know about another secret LS1 car making well over 900hp at the wheels with a smaller motor than mine, so I know it's possible. When that car debuts, FWIW, it'll be all over the magazines. I sure wouldn't want to try using the cruise control in that car... :D

Wait 'til you see/hear the Rocket this year. It's "stepped up to the plate", you might say. Anyway, enough of that...

I'm just danged impressed that with full weight, stock suspension, stock internals/cam/heads that he got that kind of power. When he goes to the LS6 intake, ported heads, slightly lower compression, a different ignition timing map and a turbo cam, he'll make silly power. Which is exactly where he's headed with that car.

I'll be watching this guy. ;)

FYI, there are now full-bodied LS1 Camaros in the sixes. :)

I don't think that car is supposed to be a max-mod vehicle, FWIW. Kind of like my car... fast but meant to be street driven.
