A stone hit my windshield today and has cracked it
its about 8 " long right now on the passenger side.
Am I still okay to run this sunday?
I can't get a new one till late next week.....
I hope this doesn't prevent me from competing

(tongue in cheek)
Ask Andrew if you can drive the beetle....
I will have to leave this question to the series scrutineer (Tom). I think it depends on the size of the crack.

i didnt do it.... i swear :o
Hey Tony,
At least you and Pete are in the same class, and perhaps can drive his car if all else fails. I know it's not the same as driving your own car, but you get to kick "Solberg's" a$$ with his own car.
Muahahahaha!!!
I've seen other cars run with cracked windshields, a certain cavalier, and a certian 2.5rs drove the series with a broken windshield no problem.

Actually I replaced mine before the start of the season. But I can't see how a small crack will effect anything. But I guess it could depend on where the crack is.

Tony,I reread the rules and it doesn't specify running with a cracked window-it just says must pass all safety checks.
Here's my take on it,if you have a helmet with a full visor bring it or borrow one.In ice racing when we flop a car over we can run with a broken windshield(just broken not missing)for the remainder of that weekend only as long as a full visor is worn.
Since this is a non-contact sport relative to what goes on in ice racing I think this should be sufficient considering the short time frame to have it repaired and the BSP class title will be decided on sunday!
Hope this helps, see you on sunday.

I'm not positive Finboy but I think the highway traffic act says something to the effect of in the drivers line of sight as to the location of the crack.Tony says the crack is on the passenger side,so what if no passengers are allowed to ride in his car on sunday?
Regardless of Robbs post which is a sweeping comment regarding safety in general I certainly will stand up for Tony at the drivers meeting if anyone has a problem with the windshield.
