Is there really any option for why my civic is hemorrhaging coolant from the water pump area beside a bad water pump? I wont have a chance to get in there for a real look until next week.
Could it just be a gasket, or is it likely the whole pump will have to be replaced?

How many miles on the pump? If it is any more than a few, just replace it. If the coolant loss is that big, the pump bearing has failed.

First clean the area around where you see traces of coolant, and then see where it's coming from. It could be a bad hose/connection/broken or lose clamp at the pump, a gasket leak, or the pump itself. Most pumps have a weep hole in the casting, and if the bearings/seals are worn out, coolant will leak past them and exit through the weep hole.

Well, I got the pump changed last year, so there are a few miles on it. From what I can gather, since the leak is from the pump area, it pretty much has to be the pump itself causing the issues since there are no coolant lines that run in that area.
I'm going to take a closer look tonight, but I have a feeling I'll be spending Canada day in my engine bay

On the back of the block, there is a metal water pipe that takes coolant to the thermostat housing and the cylinder head. There is an o-ring around that pipe where it mates to the block - I've had that leak on me during a re-and-re.
