That's right, LAPS (Quebec Solo 1) members are invading your event on September 21st! Alot of us will be camping at the track on the Saturday night. We'll be the guys with the Quebec plates and the loud exhausts. For most of us it will be our first time at Shannonville. We look forward to meeting you guys and hanging out Saturday night.

There are a reasonable number of the Ontario Solo 1 regulars that camp at Shannonville on the Friday night as well. You're welcome to join us.

We're only coming to the Sunday event, so that's why we'll only be camping the one night.

We've had very little T-Rex participation this year and non are coming to SMP...
Vicent, would those T-Rex's even be street legal in Ontario? I thought I heard something about them only being legal in Quebec when we were at Blainville. Anyway, I was only joking around anyway :)
What sort of cars should we expect to see you guys arrive in? If any of your guys want some help classifying their cars before arriving at Shannonville, have them drop me an e-mail at dpratte4@cogeco.ca (I don't know much French though, so that could pose a problem if any of your guys aren't comfortable corresponding in English...maybe you could act as a translator if such a situation arises?)
Cheers,
Dave

Most people seemed able to classify their cars with no problem. Our cheque and bundle of forms should arrive at the registrar's today. I didn't know about my own case though (D16Z6 swap in a 1988 DX Honda Michelin Civic) but I'm sure we'll figure it out. Our crew will comprise of mostly Honda and VW (including 2 S2000's) with a Volvo, WRX and a couple of Audis as well. It should be great fun!
Glad to hear classification hasn't proved too confusing. Are the S2000 guys aware of our rollover protection requirements for convertibles? If not, you should contact Christian about it.
I actually have a D16Z6 in a 93' Civic CX, so my engine situation is not all that different from yours. We have a simple way of dealing with engine swaps, we simply replace the DX horsepower rating with the D16Z6 horsepower rating and give the car a new Starting PI accordingly. In your case, a 1988 DX weighs 1993 lbs (according to MSN Auto's website) and with a the 125hp D16Z6 engine your car's Starting PI is 61.1%. All you need to do is add your prep points to this starting PI, factor in any allowable mods, and you'll come up with a Final PI that'll determine what class your car runs in. Let me know if you need any help with this.
Cheers,
Dave
