Announcing the 3rd event in the CASC-OR Regional Tour, hosted by the Peterborough MotorSports Club. (PMSC)

Where: The Memorial Centre Parking Lot. Type the following into Google Map and get directions,

151 Lansdowne Street West, Peterborough, ON K9J 1Y4

When: Sunday July 12th. Registration opens at 8.30am, closes at 9.30am. Drivers meeting at 9.45, with first car on course by 10.15am. There will be a 30 min break for lunch to support our local economy.

Cost: $25.00 per driver

Boring Legal Stuff: The Peterborough MotorSports Club will be administering the event, however we will deffer to the official regional rulebook with respect to all safety, eligibility, and championship regulations. Official rulebooks and regulations can be found at http://solo2.casc.on.ca/info/rules.php (http://solo2.casc.on.ca/info/rules.php).

The event is open to all drivers and PMSC will be scoring one of our club events concurrently with the regional competitors. So if you don't want to take part in the regional side of things, think of it as a well attended PMSC event.

Spoiler Alert:

Marshalling will be organized, and all competitors will be required to marshal for a short stint after every run.
The course should run around 40-45 seconds, with one small loop. There will be two cars on the course at a time, with an adequate safety margin.
The pit area can be a little tight, so I would encourage anyone with a 'trailer-queen' to show up promptly.
Every competitor will get a free ballot in a 'Guess the FTD draw'. The closest guess to the fastest time of the day gets their entry fee back (i.e. free event).
In addition to the regular Regional Tour door prizes, PMSC has a few small tokens of appreciation to give away.

What questions do you have for me?

FYI, we've got a local catering establishment to sell food and drinks on site. As they have made an investment in coming out for the day I would ask that you support them, if you like.

Here we go - Event 3!

Still accepting registrations for the series, bring completed forms to see me at 8:30 and I'll set you up!

PMSC is well renowned for making challenging courses for all sizes of cars, I am really looking forward to this one.

Forecast is for a hot sunny one, much better than Barrie's typhoon. (not tlmc's problem)

See you all there!!!

Klaus told me he's coming...

Tashko shouldn't have a silly SCCA event to scurry away to in fear of losing up here...

Mike W's Miata will be a force on the smaller lot...

The battle for D-MOD continues! Muah!HAHAHahahahaha! :D

Hey, results from Barrie still aren't up, eh? It's hurting my trash talk abilities.

Does anyone have suggestions for food in the area?

Hey Klaus, it will be good to see you again! I'm looking forward to the battle:D

As for food in the area, pick what you like. there's pretty much anything within walking distance or a 2 minute drive along Lansdowne.

Snaps (http://www.evanholtphotography.ca/Photography/Recent_Shoots/Pages/CASC-OR_Regional_Event_3.html) are up, and as secretary of the PMSC I would like to thank all competitors for visiting our city and hope you enjoyed a day of great racing!

Thanks Evan, and all of the volunteers from PMSC!

Strange to go to Peterborough and all of a sudden have all of this Dodge hardware all about! ;) :D

It's a challenging but good lot; lots of little camber changes, and strange amounts of grip in some spots! I was happy to have 3rd on the FTD list, and I think that I finished 2nd in class... (?) Not bad for a meat head like me to manage that on a handling track.

In the fun run, Klaus hopped in my car for the first time, put it in second gear right after launch and left it there for the whole thing. He did a 46.6 on his first attempt. Argh! Good driving, Klaus!

I would like to also thank everyone that came out today. I'll be taking away a few things from the event and I hope we run one again next year so that we can continue what works, and improve what was less successful.

Thanks again.

Greg.

Thanks Greg for a well organized and fun day. The course was .... hmmm technical and actually a lot of FUN. ... I like now "Miata courses" as well.
Great job Greg and thanks to all PMSC members that put this on.

Also thanks to Stephen D for letting me drive this rocket. This 6k launch was an eye opener and an arm stretcher ... I almost lost grip of the steering wheel ... but then I settled into my usual "carry the momentum" mode, rather then a cone - to - cone dash.

Yes as always, PMSC did a fantastic job. There are a few clubs that host Provincial events with a laid back, let's have some fun, we have a tight lot but who cares, events.

I am always amazed with what PMSC can do with the lot they have to run in. Great job Greg and all the PMSC crew.

I should have some pictures up by tomorrow hopefully. Last night was all about the German GP and stretching out my toasted back on the floor. Funny enough, my back did alright all day until we got to the construction on the 401 just west of Yonge and we drove over those damn manholes that are a foot lower than the road. For the second weekend in a row those damn manholes did a number on my back. (I wish they would finish the construction there, it's only been four years and there is NEVER anyone working there when I drive through)

It was really great to race in a regional event. I wanted so bad to catch the Mini Cooper in HS, but it was not to be. I really want to hit up some of the large parking lot events to see the difference from the little lots I've been running on for the last 5 years.

Any tips for HD movie editors that can handle MTS files at 1920 x 1080? Youtube is ruining these videos...

You know, the Memorial Centre is big enough to have some fun. But, a TLMC event in Barrie is big. Look for one of their events. http://www.twinlakesmc.org/

And hey, since you are now a regional competitor too, try Picton. Ain't nothing bigger than that. :) September 19th and 20th.

Language is Not Work Safe. And it made a baby cry. You don't REALLY get a good feel for the lot size from the video, but...
