I'll be there. I'll still be slow as crap in my class, but i'll be there having fun! It's frickin' tough to not be dead-last when everyone else is running R-comps. Oh well, they'll be in the budget for next year. I'm just going to focus on smoothing out my driving and getting faster with what i've got.
It was a bit disheartening when I checked the times list, and saw that I got soundly trounced by Frank in his Echo though. It just shows though that good driver + good tires trumps power any day.

Well, lets HOPE it holds up this weekend. Shannonville Friday, Picton Sat, and then TLMC Sunday. If she holds up, it will be nice to see how the change holds up to the rest of the drivers.

After a less than stellar performance at Peterborough last Sunday I'm going to be looking for some sort of make up...it will definitely be nice to use 2nd gear again:rolleyes:
Can someone make sure there's no rain...

I will be showing up. First post here also.
Quick question, my car is otherwise stock except for a sway bar on the rear. Will that bump me up to a street prepared class?

ST1.
Those tires will not push you to SP. Looking foreward to seeing you out. The HHR SS we had out on stock tires had some... problems with traction ;)...

Haha yeah... Ive had that problem, solution is to ignore first gear.
He might not have had the LSD though.
Thanks!

Ahh, yes that would do it 45 lb/ft more torque at 2000 rpm would cause quite a problem
Luckily/Unfortunately (depending how you look at it) they have not released stage 1 for the Cobalt yet

I'll be there, copper corolla is officially finished its motorsports career.
I thought to be fair I'd bring last years ice race civic, going to be weird with wrong wheel drive on asphalt though.

It's the exact same car, shouldn't matter. Maybe just order the stage 1 for the HHR SS and install it on your cobalt? lol.
It's alot of power being put through the front wheels, that's for sure.

Yeah there is alot of frustration among the owners.
Every other 2.0 Turbo application gets this upgrade except us and since it needs to be flashed at a GM dealer, they simply won't or can't do it for our VIN numbers.

I'll be at this event. Looking forward to it actually! New steering rack (warranty) this week and having some camber added to the front. Should actually turn now!

Why do you want #25 so bad? Marshall uses #25 in the regional series...so I know that can't be your reason.

Ok so I bought sticky tires yesterday.
Now I have BFG R1's going on, I am assuming now I will be in a different class?

BFG R1's are track tires that require a couple of laps to get heat into them.
Just so you're not overly optimistic.

Fully aware.
I bought them to do lapping days, but, I also enjoy doing these autocrosses, and I dont want to wear out my street tires any further as one more event will likely mean I need to replace them immdediately.

Clearly because it's my lucky number!
lol no, I had some pretty race plates made up and #25 was free for PITL and ATTS and I assumed TLMC so I went for it. I also have a #225 plate which I highly doubt anyone has lol, so I am content with it to as I don't want to be stealing anyone's number.

Ha ha,no thanks I'm not much of a public speaker-hated that in school.:)
Well I thought I had the issue sorted out from the last time out and it was running perfect again-untill the other day when it refuses to start.I'd already advertised it for parting out and had people waiting for stuff, just wanted 1 more event out of the 'ol girl for sentimental reasons.
Looking forward to next years car,the build starts(from a pile of tubing and a dead miata;))as soon as I have the corolla parted out to new homes.Head and carbs will be on their way to Washington next week and the suspension heads to calgary shortly there after.Looks like the tub, cage and body is going to be bought and remain in Ontario-so we might see it again.
Was just wondering that since I'm bringing a car with 2 seats can my 8 yr old son ride along?.Ice race rules say 9 years old but not sure about solo.

I'll double check in a bit, but I think 9 and older can ride along during a fun run. I'm not sure how old you have to be to ride along during a timed run, but it's older than 9.
Sorry Tom.

Anyone knows when the results will be posted?
I missed the first half of the drivers meeting when they announced the results for stock class and now I'm refreshing the page 4 times a day to see if they are up:)

Knowing Steve and the boys it will take till after the next event till the times will make it to the internet. I'll call Steve tonight and light a small fire under his arse to get the times up.
