This may come in handy for someone considering ways to mount a racing harness using the OEM locations.
As per FMVSS 208, each of the mounting locations for a three-point OEM belt must withstand 3,000 lbf (13,345 N).
As per FMVSS 225, all of the mounting points for the LATCH system (child seat restraints) only withstand a combined force of 10,000 N (2,248 lbf).
Therefore, while the top tether looks convenient for attaching the shoulder straps of a racing harness, it may only take 3,333 N (750 lbf) at best.
