Has anyone else had issues with the build quality of the Toyo?

They are 315/35 17s on 10.5" rims which is with in their specs.

I have not raced on them yet but I did take them out for a run on the highway to burn off the outer shine. I had them originally balanced in June, and not put them on till a week or so ago. They had a bad vibration in them. I took them back and I trust th place I go to and they told me 2 of them had more than .100" run out and the other 2 were a little over .060". He said this would normally be unacceptable for the Bridgestones they sell.

Do they need a proper heat cycle or something or are my new tires junk?

I got them through Talon with the racers discount.

Thanks for any input.

Never heard of any issues. What is run out on a tire? Do you trust the shop to balance? What does Howard say?

I trust the place a great deal. I have used them for 12 years for all my tires and alignments. So did Gaspeddle.

Who is Howard, Doug? Someone from Talon?

The run out was over .120" on one tire and around .100" on an other. As he called them, eggs. They checked the rims too, and they were perfect.

I was hoping to make it tomorrow, but on another note the car will not start. Hopefully show up to take some pictures.

Yes, Howard is at Talon. I thought you would have spoken to him when you bought the tires. Call and ask about this. He can talk to Toyo for you. I recommend doing this before you use the tires.

.120" is not very much run-out on a tire. How were these stored, and for how long? If it was in a rack, then they could be out of round from that. I would run them, and re-balance them.

I would expect that they will be fine.

They were not on the car, but in the corner of my garage. I only bring them inside in the winter. I never had any issues with any other tire I have stored the same way and there have been a lot of them. 2 sets of V710s, 555R's, 555RIIs, Hoosiers, several sets of Drag radials and the list goes on.

I will give them a call and see what they say. Hopefully if the car will start I will take it out next week somewhere.

I figure if the vibration is bad at 120 what will it be like at 220+.

Thanks for the input.

I thought you were going to TMP tommorrow?

If you are not driving, bring them to the track for Ben and Allen to use. Their tires are all used up and they can heat cycle them for you and then you can get the rebalanced.

My screw up. I went to the track today, watched the lappers for a bit and came home to try the car again.

So are you going back in the morning? Take the tires for Ben to cycle for you in the morning.

I might come later in the day. I need to figure out why I have no ignition. I have replaced coils, checked fuses, wiring. Totally baffled.

I also prefer to break them in myself.

Main Relay?

Main Relay?

I swapped the starter and ignition relay which had the same part#. It turned over still with no ignition.

I have an idea of one wiring section I have not checked. It goes to 4 of the 8 coils and might be causing something wierd.
