yup, 917 replicar on a beetle chassis - running a ford 5 litre-- very strange combo!
i think he had a hard time - 2 reasons - the car had a lot of body movement, and it was just physically REALLY long - the gates today were pretty tight (at least, i think they were tight).

Nice pictures! It was a really fun event, other than getting stuck with the worst marshaling station. I almost had a heart attack I was running around so much.

Beetle chassis!?! Did this thing have swing axles? That would make for a slow POS right there!
Sorry for making you so much Simon. Those cones liked rubbing up against my car.

Yeah thanks for all the help with the basic Qs yesterday! I had a fun time.. looking forward to going all-out next season...
Great photos, fun day, enjoyable course. Really open and quick. I got the same marshalling station as Martini Focus. I used up all of the spare cones, due to the number that disappeared into the distance under someones' car, and ran out of breath replacing the last cone in the "interesting" chicane, which could be run straight on by some of the narrower cars. Phew! The most fun I've had yet.:)
I didn't check the results to see who won front drive, but some of the times I noted for the Blowtorch Beetle were awfully fast......

Cones killed me again...
I had a dirty 63.8 in there - i'm thinking they'll open up the course next event to prevent us from getting this close to them.

You had quite the 3-wheel action going on as well.
The last four gates were a BLAST!
