Nope, skipping that one. The 10 and the BMW school on the 25/56 will be my last track days for the year. Then I'm making my car stock again and will start to look for a track car for next year.

I'm gonna go the other way.....I'm going to make my GTI a track/race car and look for something to tow it around with, maybe a VW transporter or Nissan Xterra. I'm undecided at this point.

I don't know what I want to do, I want something more out of this then just lapping. If the budget allows it, I was thinking of trying out the Bridgestone racing series. But I'll still want to do lapping so not sure what to do, I'll have a better idea around the new year as my budget then will dictate what I can do. I have to look into regional racing as well, but I doubt I cvould put something together for next year, maybe for 2005.

We should talk! I'm thinking more or less the same thing....maybe we could split a car for regional racing. Not sure if one car could run two classes though.

Two drivers can also share a car in the touring series and, I think, earn points for both drivers. Check the regs at www.casc.on.ca

There is practice, qualifying and a 20 minute race on Saturday and a 40 minute race on Sunday.

I don't see my self ever sharing a car, I see too many potential problems. Last thing I would want to happen is someone write off the car in T2 and the other person never gets a chance to race for the rest of the season, I wouldn't want to be in either position.

JGraves, what's involved in regional racing, if yoiu have the time can you write up a summary of what is involved, the costs and time? What are my options?

I have a nice 2002 Sierra for you that will haul that GTI to the track quickly enough.

Sam, I'm hardly the best person to ask about regional racing. Saturday was my first and only race. I took the school, went for a medical, applied for the license and wrote John a cheque so I could drive his car for part of the test day and Saturday. He handled all of the car prep, crew (his nephew) and entry fees and forms. See my posts here (http://racing.kos.net/soloforums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1801&perpage=15&pagenumber=1) for details of my weekend but there are many others that are much more qualified to talk about regional racing in general. You can also read here (http://www.casc.on.ca) or ask here (http://www.teutonic.ca/forums/main.php).

They allow pitstops, but they aren't mandatory, and no refueling is allowed in the pits.
