Is there a Canada GT challenge web site?

The web site that sponsors this forum (well, mine) has a very good links database (http://racing.kos.net/links.php) that you might want to check out. And if it's not there, I'd appreciate it if you could add it using the "add link" selection.

I did a search for "challenge" and came up empty, so I don't think I have it listed yet. Clicking on the CASC-OR (http://racing.kos.net/links.php?op=visit&lid=4) link, I found results and a schedule, at least.

Yeah, the only info the Canada GT Challenge Cup is on the CASC-OR web site. That's it.

It's pretty unbelieable that here we are, a small buck amateur motorsport group and we've got our own web site and message forum and they have nothing.

What puzzles me is how they (CASC) raised the competition license fee by 25% without any explanation. I'd like to know what I get for the $50 investment.

Definitely, definitely nothing for your $50...yeah, definitely nothing :D

I'd like to know what the extra $10 goes to too.

Not that I mind it. SVRA charges $80 USD.

I guess what bothers me is that the SCCA appears to serve their membership so much better than CASC. How difficult is it to keep on top of general communications to members or prospective members with an up-to-date web site.

I've been trying to get a hold of someone at CASC for the last two months with no success. I guess when all this 'free' money is coming in, there really isn't any incentive to return e-mails, letters, phone calls.

This is not a defence, but here's the dirt. CASC_OR has finally figured out how much money it takes to operate for a year. The presidents of each club gave them the go ahead two AGM's ago to stockpile a years worth of budget (I think 100K). The prices on licences reflect a permanent increase to stay on budget.
When they have that cash in the bank I seriously doubt all the levies at events will go down though. If you think we aren't getting much for our dough you should hear the horror stories from RSO and CARS. You're suporting them with your Club membership fees too.
As far as not being able to contact them... on voice mail navigate to Bob Varey's mailbox, he normally picks up and he's helpfull to boot. For email, Write YO BOB at the top of every one and he'll see it.
