Just to bring it up again, is the seatbelt rule up for review since race is NOT going to 2yr(SFI)/5yr(FIA) rule? I am not along when I say I would LOVE to see this consistent. Seems grassroots racers are getting penalized higher financially with this. Yes I know you can't put a price tag on life, but what is being down about fast cars with three point belts, no cages etc........ and old cars with original belts?
Yes, I'm hardheaded and just wanted to bring it up AGAIN! Be happy I won't be able to attend the workshop as this is an issue I am trying NOT to let die!

Why not just buy FIA belts and skip the SFI ones? You can get some GForce 6 point belts for like $160

6 point cam locks for $160 each? FIA rated? Where? Tell me and I will shut up:p:D. Can't seem to source them thorugh my regular guy, the one that has been GIVING me belts for the last few years. But his are SFI and I get them two years old. So much for that freebie.................:rolleyes:

Are they HANS compatible?
US$ plus shipping puts the cost over $160.
Why do they say they are the only ones using 3 inch hardware. Do they all not have 3 inch?

Arek... Why did you give him that link? The OSO did this to keep Bruce OUT of SoloSprint. Don't you read your Emails?!?!?

All belts are HANS compatible (read the HANS documentation). Yes, there is a shipping cost, but maybe you need gloves, or some other shit? Buy it as part of other things, and it becomes cheaper. Who knows, maybe there's even a Canadian distributor ... I just linked the ones I know about.
3" hardware: Many 3" belts use 2" hardware, and just fold the belt at the end to fit 2". I dunno why, or if it any worse. The point is these are cheap Poly (not Nylon) belts that are FIA rated.

I hope the answer is NO, why should it be up for review? Maybe we should commend the OSO for being leaders and not followers.

Talk to Jeff at JRP in Mississauga, he gives Solo guys some good deals. I can't remember off the top of my head what I paid for my Sparco 6 point, not $160 cheap, but definitely worth the FIA 5 year use upgrade.

Thanks for the info, I was thinking JRP and Sparco, may be the way to go as I found out that RCI and Impact are sticking with the SFI rating.
Gee Steve, didn't think I was that MUCH OF A THREAT:confused::eek::mad:. Sorry that I'm BETTER LOOKING AND a BETTER DRIVER!:p
Ivano, I am not a big fan of knee jerk reactions leading to permanent solutions. The issue isn't fully the 2yr/5yr seatbelt rule, it's more the whatever year on "stock" cars that are running VERY fast and will have a more spectacular off.
Again to all, thanks and Steve, We will BOTH be there next year for parts of the season, maybe with a surprise..........................:D
