Well it is official. WOSCA will be running CNAC classes and pax factors (with a few minor changes) for our fall slalom series, to begin on Oct. 19th. I'll make another post in the WOSCA forum in the next day or two with the exact changes.

Competitors will be responsible for their own classing, so we won't get bent out of shape over something like slotted rotors in stock, or camber plates in SS.

Hmm...I *do* have two midterms in the week after the 19th, but they seem a whole lot less important now!

Well after some timing difficulties and the unavoidable mass amounts of typing that go with the first event with new rules in a new series the event did eventually get started.

We once again had a great turnout of 61 competitors on Sunday. The big turnout made for a long day, but we managed to ge all 5 runs plus a few fun runs in for good measure.

Unfortunately this event was the first time that WOSCA has had to require marshaling as long as I have been a member (and possibly ever), but I'm very pleased with the results. Despite having one of the lowest member turnouts this year, marshaling as a breaze and I believe only 3 drivers were late for one run. I'm sure that things will flow even more smoothly as our competitors and members adjust to the new system.

Results are now posted on the WOSCA website here: http://www.wosca.com/Event_Results/Fall-2003-Event-1-Results.htm

Congratulations to Daniel Fryer on his event win. Daniel is only the second non-wosca member to win a non-snow event this year (or the last 6 years if memory serves?).

As some of you know Len Silvester of TTL Action Photography was present taking photographs all day of all the competitors. To inquire about pictures of you and your car and order prints email Len at ttlactionphot@execulink.com

Ouch! Owned by PAX.
Brian W. and I were in the same class under CASC-OR rules. At this event we ran almost exactly the same time but he came in 34th and I was 50th. Yuck!

Wish I hadn't nailed a cone and buggered my 43 second run, oh well...

There wasn't? There were lots of DS cars there, but I guess they all progressed to SS. Yes DSS is going to be VERY competitive next year. I didn't even get the class win. :(

Not that it mattered. Nobody was even close to Daniel on PAX.

Dianne won DS on her last run after Reg convinced her she wouldn't break the car. 28th overall.

Couple more runs like that and she'll be shopping for R-compounds!!!!
