Anyone use this size? I'm looking for feedback compared to the 225/45, extra grip, longevity, etc. I'm debating using this on the rear next year. Thanks.

I think Paul K is the only person in the western half of the province that used them this year. He has said to me that they have significantly more grip than the 225's (he had a set of each mounted). I don't think they lasted any longer. I will likely buy a set in the spring.

Yeah, I know. If it all comes together, I'll be out next summer. I hope I remeber how to drive the car in anger.

Hehe, I know what you mean, I was laying pretty low for a while myself. But it didn't take too long to get back up to speed (and that's with a different car too).

Great to see you are still alive and kicking!
Like Mike said, I tried them this year and they were great, but typical hoosier, better than anything for the first couple events then a gradual drop in perfromance with each heat heat cycle. They have way more tread left than my 710's or 225's would've had after same number of events but the rubber is a little too fussy for my car now.... been heat cycled too many times. I'm expecting them to be just fine on my other miata (SS car) with a little less low end torque.
Dave T (remember him?) used a set last year on his turbo miata and had good things to say.
Mike H also tried a set on his FWD VW but I don't think he had the same luck with tread wear that Dave and I had.

Can't speak for the size, but I can echo the wear / life issue. The A6's are REALLY fast for the first 20 runs or so and then tail off. After 50 runs or so they're pretty much done - grip wise.
I ran 5 Regionals (including the Picton weekend) and 6 club events this year and I'm only just at the wear bars. The A6's might only be marginally grippier than my streets now...Ahhh, if only the budget allowed for 4 or 5 sets a year:rolleyes:

I haven't noticed any downward spiral of grip at all on my a6's, they gripped well on the first run and gripped well after 60+ runs. Only when its wet they don't grip so well :)

When comparig the 2 sizes you mentioned, it has been clearly mentioned, based on the feedback from those who purchased these from me, that the 255 gave overall better grip and feel.
As far as durability is concerned, expect no real adavantage with the 255 , if you are able to heat them up as well as a 225. Hoosiers will give you 12 solid runs and then its all downhill from there. Not to worry, as the Hoosier hill is built much higher than the competition...
