Did they just start showing BTCC again? In the 90s I remember watching it on speedvision and the coverage from that time was the best EVER! This is awsome!

I miss those speedvision days, I think the BTCC was the best out of them all. I am not much a fan of the German stuff the cars just don't do it for me. The austrailian super touring cars back then were the same as the BTCC so they were good to watch aswell.

Your the only one I have ever heard agree with me about the BTCC from the 90s! I rave about it and people usualy look at me like Im crazy. But no one else came close to the race coverage we got from that series from that time. All the cars had cameras where they needed to be so they could do quick on car replays from cars in front AND cars behind of almost every incident. And that series was so closely matched the battles were the definition of epic!

To add to everything they had to be the coolest looking touring cars ever. The budget they had for that series was insane. You gotta see them to appreciate it. I found a round of the 97 season just now and Ill definitely be watching the rest of the season while I eat dinner next week lol. I think this was the season where there were awsome battles between the Renault Lagunas and the Nissan Primeras. My favorite guy was Mat Neal in the red older generation Primera always driving his ass off. The classic underdog! I think that was the season where he became the first privateer to win or something like that.

In this one when the nissan and audi go off notice the AWSOME replay from onboard a car that was behind them wich captured the whole incident. This series was full of views like this wich made it so exiting to watch.

Yea I think it's because you identify the cars, they looked like a normal car but with a crazy drop and 19" wheels. There was a guy with the last name Mc rae I think that had one of those Renualt Lagunas at Mosport a couple years ago.

P.S. I got to see some of the touring cars when they were trying to make a series here in NA and they brough them to the Toronto Indy, to bad they didn't bring more and bring them to Mosport.

I remember being like 12 and watching all sorts of british touring car when i was sick at home from school

those days were the best

now its stupid nascar interviews, repeating the same stuff over analysing everything. It's so annoying. Oh did i mention shows about big trucks towing stuff? WHO CARES !? And how is that speed???

I watched a bit of DTM a couple of years ago and they seemed to have gone nuts with the modifications. I like the 'cleaner' BTCC cars.

This years BTCC was quite enjoyable. My girlfriend even got into it to the point that she was asking me when the next race was!

I loved the '90s BTCC. I watched a couple of races at Brands and Donnington in the early 2000's when I was in the UK often. I do remember one of the MG squads had some girl band livery. :eek:

No more Vauxhall factory effort in 2010. It'll be interesting to see what the grid will be.

I've managed to keep my dislike for Matt Neal all these years and he re-confirmed it with performances this year...I don't think he's made a clean pass in his life.

Maybe this is a sign that SpeedTV is coming around?

lol sorry Ryan! I think someone else is signed on as Solo.. something and I wasnt sure. Maybe it was on the protege forum? Theres someone arround here thats got a slightly different version of your sign on so I wasnt sure.

It would have been cool if that series did come to Canada! Dang. Todays race was pretty good. The DTM was pretty much the same old coverage wich I found pretty drawn out and kind of boring. I looked at the clock and thought "okay its 12:18 and the race hasnt started yet come on"

Then the BTCC came on at 1:00 and by 1:02 they had introduced every driver with a picture of their car and position on the starting grid. 1:03 the race started. Thats what its all about! A solid hour of racing. Cant wait for next week!
