This was the Brian Redman Challenge at Road America...Elkhart Lake...2005
This is only a portion of the carnage. In total, 17 cars were damaged, including Donahue's lightweight Camaro. the cause of this incident was the starter.!!! :o

:eek:Oh My God !!! What on earth happened there ? the whole field looks like it got involved. I 've been in the bridge for a bad Canada Cup start but only 3-4 cars got that beat up. The sad story is on everyones face including the 100 Gs of scrap on the outside on the rail. That's just wrong.

the picture doesn't tell the whole story-

guys crawled out of wrecked cars and fist fights broke out-

but wait there's more...the clerk of the course invited the mob up to the tower and screamed and yelled at them for 45 minutes.

...but wait there's more...then handed out 13/13s and i think a couple drivers had to surender thier race licenses for life.

i read about that when it happened - the version i read (from a driver in the wreck) held the sanctioning body accountable for allowing 'over-preparation' of vintage cars (V8's with 100hp more than it would have if it was vintage correct) to race in the hands of less-than-prepared novice drivers "jumping on the vintage racing bandwagon", citing the driver of a Camaro as the "on-track" cause of the accident.

Dave - could you please explain to me what 13/13s is/are? never heard that one before!
