I don't think he could have picked a less aerodynamic car if he tried! Might as well have used a brick outhouse:rolleyes:. What amazes me is that none of the people planning this stunt could see the various huge flaws in the plan? Come to think of it if he actually DID make it across I doubt the car's suspension would have been up to the task of landing or was he just planing on shooting up real high and pulling the chute and drifting down to land, I'm not sure. Come to think of it by looking at that bunch they may not have known either :D.

I think the invention of bridges made his whole design obsolete. Come to think of it, for a million bucks in the 70s I think he could've just built a bridge and would've guaranteed he got to the other side. LOL

Don't think the parachutes are designed to work when the car is upside down. That and the lines obviously tangled around the car as it was flipping.
