I've made a Google Calendar for 2010 in which I'm listing all the events which SPDA people are involved in, and this happens to be most disciplines. So you can check it out if you like. I have autoslalom, SoloSprint, ORRC, CRC, TDI Cup. I'll be adding the Sprints as soon as I get around to looking for what schedule is available. I think it should be usefull for CASC & RSO in general, YMMV.

Okay folks, we're going to try something new in 2010! I've created a Google Calendar for SPDA which will list the majority of Ontario events that SPDA members are involved in either as competitors, organisers, and/or volunteers.

Hopefully, this will help people plan out their year, particularly those cross-discipline participants.

There is also a Google calendar app for IPhone and BB users. Somebody else will have to chime in how to do that.

Also, if you are using Mozilla Sunbird for your desktop calendar, you can sync it with the SPDA calendar by 'Adding External Calendar' or something like that and specify the ICAL link as the network address.

To keep on topic: I think the only dates for autoslalom that are missing are the Open House and the School, which I'll add when they are available.

I have linked it to my Google calendar, but there is only SCCA and Solo Sprint stuff on in August, September ....

There will be an open house in April where you can sign up. The date has not been posted yet. If you can't make the open house, pm me and I'll get you sorted out.

Klaus at this time only the confirmed solo2 dates have been posted on the website, haven't spoken with the commish recently but I know Andrew is working on getting the entire schedule confirmed with the clubs so it can be posted.

New guy needs help. I am building a 91 Crx Si to compete in auto cross and to run some track days etc. Trying to get class info - what car must have for safety , tires -r compound or brand etc. Where I need to register or preregister etc. Also more info on schedule dates. times and locations. Need to know are there any events on the May 24 - 2010 weekend as I have a friend coming from florida for the weekend. He competes in florida and wants to do some events here. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also what are the different organizations that I need to check out?

Depends on what you plan to run. Autoslalom doesn't need anything until you get into the MOD classes. The Provincial championship rules and classes are here: http://solo2.casc.on.ca/info/rules.php

However, most of the car clubs run a club autoslalom series and they generally have different class structures. A list of clubs is here: http://solo2.casc.on.ca/info/clubs.php

If by track days you mean lapping days, the requirements are varied but generally just the appropriate helment (even then some lapping days only recommend a lid!)

Alternatively, for track events there's the SoloSprint championship. It is similar to a time-attack except that it's 'solo' so you against the clock with no passing. Think of it as having a couple of qualifying sessions to post your best time. It has a great classing structure. It's rules and classing is here: http://www.soloontario.com/forms.html

There's also various other track events, including the ATTS series that the SPDA club puts on: www.atts-online.ca

There is a Solo Open House that occurs on the first weekend in April where most of us sign up for the SoloSprint series (reduced entry fees!) and the Provincial Autoslalom championship. Also, many clubs have tables at the open house so you can speak to their reps and decide which club you would like to join and lots of people you can ask questions to! Recommended.
The location and date/time has not been announced yet.

There are no Provincial Autoslaloms or SoloSprints currently scheduled for the May 24 weekend. There is a double-header Provincial Autoslalom the following weekend in Picton, which is a big and fast autoslalom event at an airfield. The weekend prior to May 24 is the SoloSprint school at the Mosport DDT track. Other than that, you'll have to check out the autoslalom schedules for the individual clubs series'. I don't know how many have theirs finalised and posted.

We have two tentatives as well:

11 July PMSC.

When the details for the open house are finalized, we will publish the dates.

We hope to have the open house dates confirmed shortly as there are still sponsorship agreements to complete. While the economic climate is improving, companies are still careful (as they should be) with how they spend their marketing dollars. We should be grateful when a company chooses to sponsor our motorsports endeavours but please understand it is not a process that can be rushed. Thanks!

Solo Open House is confirmed for April 11th at CSC Racing, 125A Harry Walker Parkway, Newmarket. Time: 1-4 PM.

If you need any type of safety gear – helmets, driving suits, gloves, seats, fire extinguishers, etc. CSC Racing is the place to purchase them. Give them the first opportunity to make you a deal.
