It would be great if someone from the board would post a reply here..

Am I the only one that doesn't know what the agenda / timetable is? Or is it that interested competitors are not welcome to come and see the procedings?

ANY input would be welcome.

Thanks

Tony

Tony: Solo workshop is the day of the banquet. There should be something on the flyer.. I think... should be on the schedule too.

neither is there , therefore the question.
I heard rumor that the solo 2 portion would not be till the afternoon.
It would be nice to know as I have to drive 2 1/2 hours to get there and it means a huge difference as to when I have to leave.

Thanks

Tony

Tony, I do believe the Solo 2 session will be in the morning, 10-12 or so followed by the Solo 1 then the banquet.

Robb or Christian should be posting details shortly.

good idea to put it in the morning. SOLO 1 always runs long and takes your time.

SOLO 1 cries before they even arrived. Infact i can hear a baby Dave Pratte crying off in the distance.

As per Christian's post, the details are as follows;

This year the 2003 Solo Rules Workshops are being held at the Sheraton Parkway North's Aurora Room on Saturday, November 1st.

9:00 AM to 12:00 PM Solo 1
Moderated by David Pratte

1:00 PM to 4:00 PM (or whenever the crying stops) Solo 2
Moderated by Wes Tanney

I will post a preliminary agenda later today or tomorrow.

If there are any specific topics that need to be on the agenda, please e-mail me at solo2guy@sympatico.ca with your suggestions.

Please refrain from bringing up the inevitable "My car is in the wrong class or my mods don't help the car that much...." topics, this is a workshop for next years series issues. Classification issues can be defered to Solo 2 Committee meetings that will follow.

There's a Solo-2 Committe??? I've been doing this 6 years and I've never heard of another venue to discuss classes and rules other than the workshop!

The current Solo 2 committee never actually all sat down and met, but that will hopefully change, assuming there are issues to dicuss in a committee meeting!

Bah. When does CNAC typically publish the next yearly revision of the rules?

What, you want to sit through four or five hours of "But my car can never beat that car...."

roooo

Of course not but there are some specific items regarding allowed-mods/prep points that I think could use some revision.

If you have a "generic" mod/prep point issue, by all means bring it up.

I am trying to discourage the "me, me, me, my car, my car, my car" discussions.

How about prep points for having certain drivers...
Former shootout winners ...4 points
Former overall winners ...3 points
...class winners ...2 points
single event class winner ...1 point

we all know it is the driver, not the car...so lets level the field!

:D :D :D

Sounds great Wes.

See you tomorrow... for the whole fricking day! :)

Oh one question though, isn't the "vote" for Solo 2 Director AFTER the workshop? Like days later :)

Taylor

Oh I forgot the workshops were at the Sheraton. Good thing I'm paying attention.

Hrm, I see this schedule for 4... Banquet at 7, half hour drive home, and back. 2 hours....

I think maybe I'll hang out in that end of town. Maybe go to Dave and Busters after the workshop for a snack/beer, whatever and some Dance Dance Revolution. Who's with me? :P

November 15th is when the CASC-OR AGM is.....

I read in the other post that I was the moderator so I figured I put some type of agenda together :)

Taylor
10-31-2003, 10:10 AM
Hehe, actually I was referring to the part that says

"The new Solo 2 Director will review the budget and see what there is to work with." :)

tanney
10-31-2003, 10:16 AM
Well the new solo 2 director will have to indeed do that after November 15th (who ever that individual will be:confused: ), but it was in the agenda as a comment to start off the discussion on the possibility of aquiring equipment to make the series, as a whole, easier to run.

Scoring can be a nightmare in a series where everyone uses different software and equipment....

Taylor
10-31-2003, 10:33 AM
Agreed. :)

Dood, I think we all know who the new director is going to be. Just yanking yer chain a little.
