The CNAC Rule book and appendixes have be posted on the CASC-OR Mobil 1 2003 Solo 2 Championship Series Sponsored by ActionFront Data Recovery Labs (http://66.46.236.210/) web site.
Go to either the What's New section or Solo 2 Series Rules and follow the links to the pdf's. As of yet there are no updates for 2004 and the will likely not be avaiable until Feb. 2004, although there are no major changes expected (for CNAC rules).

Wes,
After speaking with some people on Saturday night, there was mention that the 2004 rules would be a hybrid of the CNAC and the 2003 solo 2 rules.
Your post above leads me to believe that this is not so. Is this correct?

I promised to post the current CNAC rules as the CNAC server (where I downloaded these in the spring) went boom and is currently down.
I posted these, as they are, for review.
The current CNAC rules are set up for weekend National events, not a series, so yes there will be a hybrid, of sorts.

...any idea if adjustable perch-height springs (coilovers) will automatically put one in a SP class?

No, that IS changing for 2004. They will be allowable in the SS levels

[Mr Burns Voice] Excellent :D [/Mr Burns Voice]
Question as I missed the start of the Regional season do the cars go though any sort of tech, to make sure everyone is nice and legal?;)

Typically we have been on the honour system with the option of protesting ($50 fee) if there is someone who thinks someone else is cheating.
There was discussion on Saturday about having a scrutineering/test and tune event before the season starts.
Also there was discussion specifically about scrutineering, both safety items and rules.
A decision will be made to what will be done before the rule book is finalized (don't ask when that will be because there is still two weeks to go before the new Solo 2 Director will be put in place)

...so are there any OTHER rules that have been decided upon and that are NOT in the posted CNAC rule set?
The more advanced the notice, the better... obviously...
My race-team engineers need to start focusing their attention... I've got all of the other angles covered... my people are in Korea at the Kumho factory as we speak... and my test driver is currently in the Costco parking lot testing out shock valving...
But I still need them to spend some time refining ride-height, spring rate and CG.... as this will be affected by the above rule change...
Any insight would be appreciated... into the black-box of Solo Ontario rules-setting.
Thanks.

I thought they already were? :D
I noticed the CNAC rules say we can use any helmet with a Snell 95 or newer approval. However, the FIA website says we can use (for autocross) a M95 helmet, but not a SA95 helmet.
So does this mean I have to use my older motorcycle helmet next year instead of my 4 year old SA95?

Burl, my interpretation of that is it must conform to the Snell standard and it must be 95 or higher, thus any M95, M00, SA95, or SA00 are allowed. The helmets must be labeled such as well.
In that case, the SA95 and the M95 will expire at the end of this year. Is that the intent, to have helmets be replaced every 5 years instead of the 10 years we previously had?

The CNAC rule book does list the intended date for the helmets to expire and it's stll 10 years.
Snell SA 2000
• Snell SA 95 (valide jusqu'au /valid until 31.12.2003)
For Autocross-division 3 ONLY, the following standards are also recognised:
• Snell M 2000
• Snell M 95
Etiquette tissu ou autocollante/ Cloth or adhesive label
This is from the FIA website. CNAC is still sanctioned under FIA? Isn't it?

The HADA CNAC event allowed changing to larger calipers/rotors in SS and SP. I belive that this is intended under the CNAC rules but the write up needs fixing.
Can this be clarified as allowed for next year ASAP?

Actually it's more like
FIA -> ASN -> Regional (CASC-OR) -> Affiliated Club
