Keeping it a secret???
What mods are you going to do / un-do for next year's class changes?

I'm in ESP
If I lose my Caster blocks I could fit into ESS, but where's the fun in that!
I've got 6 or 7 points on me now I think, so I've got some stuff planned for next season to bring me closer to the point limit in SP.

I am moving the 97 Z28 from FS to ESS.
Holey crap. All the WRX cars are in ESS AND ESP!
It will be a long season.

HSS for me, if that class exists, at the trial event this year I got lumped into DSS
Can I please be lumped into a class that puts my car at an obvious disadvantage. :p

My lowly 102 hp family sedan will be in FSP with Joe and Andrew... wish me luck... Good thing I've got about 7 points of room! but no $
H-stock + 2 strut tower braces + 6" wide wheels = VERY uncompetitive car in FSS.
As I've recently demonstrated.

as of right now i'm on the border line of DSS(2 pts for engine mounts has got to be a joke right?). hoping i'll find some extra cash stuff under my pillow over the winter break to be able to set my car up for DSP instead.

DStock or DSS, haven't decided.
Tony in DSS scares me, but oh well, at least I will know how slow I am.

DSS, I don't care where Tony is, I am NOT taking off my steering wheel! If Tony runs DSS then I'll have motivation to buy the next car... or trade in for an SRT-4. I'm also still hoping the mini gets reclassed since as it sits, it is BLATTANLY wrong IMO.

Right now I'm sitting maxed out in ESS. Problem is, there are a couple mods that I'm really keen on adding for next season, so more likely than not I'll be ESP.

E.3: Turbocharger, supercharger, or NO2 injection. other than OEM= 4Points.........does this just mean that you can substitute you already turbo car with a bigger turbo? or can you put a turbo into a non turbo car.
Odd that they would allow you to turbo a non factory turbo car but not allow people to change blocks.......
hmmmmm

Oh no, I'll be running CS, too, unless I somehow manage to scrape together the cash for an Elise this winter....

I believe it says substitution is included in there. So if you add a beefier turbo you're taking 4 points as well.
There's a big thread about engine swaps on the Atlantic Region board at http://www.armsinc.ca/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=777. This came up at the ARMS AGM yesterday and has made quite a stink. The CNAC officials eventually stepped in and cleared it up but I still don't necessarily agree with it. I know over the next year the ARMS Solo director will be bringing it up with CNAC. I don't particularly like the idea that if I blow my D16 and switch to an equally cheap B18 with only 15 more HP I'm immediately a mod car when my car really is no more capable than it was before. Now if I switched to a JDM ITR engine sure. Different car entirely.
There's got to be better rules put in place.

Will anybody out here be in BS ? Seems under the national rules they move my SS Camaro to this class. I'm not sure if that is to my advantage as a novice if I decide to give it a go. My 97 SS is not that much more powerful then a Z28 from the same year. However the 98's with the LS1 engines are 40-50 more hp then this year. Any suggestions?

I here you Chris. I really don't get why the 1500 crx is in CSS/SP. Reg is in CSS now. He's trying to figure out if he can swap in the 1300 engine from his old civic and claim FSS as a 1300 CRX (which they never sold in Canada, but did in the US).

I'd be okay with CSS...........i'd be okay with CSP if it was the same as SCCA CSP. Atleast in SCCA CSP the miata's aren't FI. I still don't get why you can turbo cars before MOD however can't change the block. That doesn't make sense.
hehehe, i can already here Wes grinding his teeth....... :p

Because non-stock block, could mean a 350 small block, or an 80's turbo 4cyl formula 1 motor. You have to draw a line in the sand somewhere. This is starting to sound like the street tire argument.
