View Full Version : So what's everyone doing in the off season?

Well other than counting down the days until the start of the 2004 season that is.:D
After long thorough deliberation I've decided to just put another stock motor in the Focus for the 2004 season. The money I will save will be going towards Phase one and two courses put on by Evolution driving school. I'll also be picking up some basics at in the Skip Barber 1day combo that I've neatly slotted into a trip in January.
So the Focus will appear for 04 much the same way it was in 03 but I hope with a vastly improved driver.
I still can't decide on R compounds yet but I guess that will be answered after my classes finish on the Azenis.:D
Have a safe winter season everyone, I can't wait to start my first full season.
On a side note a big thanks to everyone for all the help and assistance this year. I was surprised to find a competition based sport where people would actually offer assistance and suggestions rather than either snubbing the new guy.

Autocrossing!!!
WOSCA runs a fall and winter series, and it sounds like TLMC is looking into doing the same. :D
Don't think of it as the off season, but rather the drift season! ;)
Bring on the fluffy white stuff!

I'm with Daniel. Thanks to WOSCA and hopefully TLMC there is no such thing as an "off-season".
Pushing your car to the limit in the snow and ice is a great learning experience too. I've driven my car for 3 winters and still managed to learn quite a bit about the car at the first winter solo II. The same day driving home I got sideways on the highway after someone cut me off, some quick thinking and soft inputs got me straight again. I would have kissed the guardrail in the same situation the day before :)
See ya there.
I'll be working by butt off all winter to pay for some Victoracers, a new clutch, LSD (not the drug) and a rear sway bar. That and carting.

The only problem with running your truck is the height limit. (Which reminds me I have to add a tape measure to the tool box for Sunday) If your under the height limit, you can run the truck.

Heh - I used to joke about running the minivan but:
a) I think it's too tall (I think I'm (Like, me, personally, not the car) about the maximum height, IIRC)
b) It's so full of crap that stuff goes flying if I corner too fast :p
And I'm excited about the upcoming WOSCA events - I think I run more events in fall and winter than in summer! I think I'm going to have to miss this Sunday's, though, because I have a big paper due

I'll definitely be at most if not all of the winter events. I'm also hoping to hit up a couple night rallies this winter (got some spare bumpers in the garage!)

Ran one of these last year (the last one?).
It's a great time, I plan on making the trip from Ptbo to Ottawa a few times to play again.
I will be properly dressed this time though.
We'll be moving to Canmore Alberta in the offseason!
