Where do I find a list of race numbers for GT cars in CASC-OR? I would like to register a number but don't know if it's available or how to go about it.Thanks.

E-mail Deb at the CASC office and she can tell you what's available. It would help her if you give her a list of your preferences in order of your priority.

Before emailing Deb you could also check last years final results.

Colin, I notice you did say "GT Numbers" but your handle is "Oldspriteguy". If in fact you will be racing an old sprite on a VARAC grid, the number process is somewhat different than for a car on the "GT" grid.
I think the Open Wheel classes have provision to have the same number used in 3 different classes (Race Regs Appendix 'P' 5.1.6) Does it open a can of worms to at least consider having a similar set-up for GT Sprints and for GT challenge ?
The proviso being the same as in Open Wheel eg if you register a number to run in GT Sprints only and then decide to run in some or all GT Challenge races, you could find that number already taken. As this supposedly works for Open Wheel, why not ???

Dave, with some GT cars able to run on three grids (G70, Challenge and Sprints) numbers could be a hassle.

I suggested that cars register for the primary group they want to run in so that there number is secured, and then list sub groups where they want to run and if the number is taken by a registered regular primary in that group then as a second choice entrant they would have to make the change.

Foe example, I plan to race GT sprints, but would like to try the GT challenge format to see if that is where I want to run next year. I would expect that someone will have my GT sprints number for Challenge so I would add a 1 or 0to my car.

I think an annual $25.00 number registration fee should be applied to each group they want to run in to secure it if they do not want to get bumped. This money could go to the workers training fund or something.

I think the entrant list used to be available, but I do not know where to find it now.

Jon and Dave just a point I believe in the late eighties and early nineties we ran into this problem and still do with the cctcc numbers but wouldn't there be a way for CASC and ASN to work together with the timing groups to solve this maybe a suggestion that numbers should be exchanged and entry lists for events could be exchanged. Now going back to the eighties and ninties we could not do that as easily as there was the GM, Honda and Porcshe series in closed wheel and F2000 in open wheel but now there is only 1 other in each type. just a op

Dek: Even old Sprite guys get to see the light after a while.(The first step to recovery is to admit you have a problem.) I'm building a G70 Honda Civic that will also run in GT6. One number for both series would be great.

Colin, I believe"VARAC" control the numbers for "VARAC" grid cars and G70+ is a "VARAC" grid.
Also check with VARAC regarding this.
