BTW, WOSCA's experienced "organizer types" are mostly located in the Sarnia area and I don't count on a great deal of them showing up for events at this venue. So any help setting up in the morning will be greatly appreciated.. to the tune of say no marshaling for the day...

I will be there, Marsh. give me a time and i'll even wear bells.

thank you to everyone who helped get WOSCA's season off the ground.

Great news! Well done WOSCA.

Marsh - I'm not sure what my attendance will be like, but how early should we show up to help setup?

Our normal setup time is 8am, which is when the gates are supposed to be unlocked. Registration around 9:30. Our normal MO is to use a local storage facillity and ferry the equipment from there. There is a facillity at Grisdale. So The big thing we need is help hauling the gear from the unit to the venue. I could do this in two trips with my Mazda3, but it's a long round trip to do that and then return to Brantford for the miata. But a few modest vehicles can make short work of it so long as we have a few vehicles by 8am... which for WOSCA is kind of like counting on it to rain gold dust all day.

I have no idea why, but it's a long standing tradition in WOSCA for most people to show up about 5 minutes before registration is supposed to close. Recently a few reliable exceptions to this rule have come up, but they all live in Sarnia, like Darcy and Jeremy here.

Good job Marsh!
I plan to be there. My brother lives in Ancaster so I might head down the night before and stay at his place so I can be there earlier in the morning to help out.

OK - thanks for the info. Can't make May 16th, but if I can make it to the June 6th event, I'll PM you for more details on helping out.
Also, where's Grisdale? Neither Google Maps nor I could track it down...

Grisdale is only 5 min from the track. (hwy 5 and brock road)

I have to say the location is awesome. (25 km and 28 min from my house according to google maps). I just have to hope the dates work.

Gridsale is here: http://maps.google.com/maps?q=43.286993,-79.994471&num=1&t=h&sll=43.286062,-79.989266&sspn=0.010309,0.01929&ie=UTF8&ll=43.286898,-79.992925&spn=0.002577,0.004823&z=18

But I'm not sure we'll use them. They don't have any small units at the moment and for the price of a big unit for one year we could buy a trailer. Which is what we might do.

Great to see some events. Looking at that google maps of grisdale, the flamboro downs lot looks awesome.

I'll be there for the Regional, June 13th. At least that's what's on the calendar............:D Be more than happy to help out!

The other dates fall in line with Solosprint weekends.

I just had an idea. Gonna do a bit of hunting around -- might be able to scam a truck and trailer (or at least a dolly) for at least one of the weekends. if that's the case, and I can get it for the 16th, I should be able to trailer my CRX down and bring at least a lot of the equipment. Lemme see what I can do. It
ll save the nerve-wracking trip in the high-strung Red Bomb as well.

The regional date is changing to June 27 due to the ATTS scheduling a conflicting event.

Not Flamboro Downs. Flamboro Speedway. Check the link in the first post.

Bruce,

The Provincial is on June 27 and happily doesn't conflict with Solosprint.

Great job Gary and Marsh!! this could be a great venue going forward. I will be at every event as long as there are no conflicts with other solo activity! lemme know if you need a hand... sounds like you're covered though.

As far as storage, you are more than welcome to throw cones behind my shed, anything more valuable can go in the shed or garage (no cars or boats please!). I'm about 5 min north of the 401 just off hwy 6. I take beer for rent. :D

Everything is go. I've been promised that the gate will be unlocked by 8:30am, which is when the cargo convoy is scheduled to arrive.

Great event Marsh (and WOSCA) with a great venue.

I, like many other people at the event, hope the series continues.

Thanks Val, I was very pleased with how the event went. No problems with anyone's behavior. We had a couple of tire on grass, but all in predictable and safe places. I will say the oval makes for nice spectating!

As those that were present know, the June 6th event is now canceled. The owner has some issues with us and we have to work these out. Until we do all club dates are on hold. Gary and I will be working on sorting these issues out for the provincial date on June 27th. I'll let everyone know as soon as there's a resolution.

Results are up: http://wosca.com/Event_Results/Summer-2010-Event-1-Results.htm
There are some errors due to some cars being on street tires and not having the results reflect that. If you find that the results don't showing you running street tires and you were, contact me and I'll rectify it and repost the results (There is already one such change not shown there for car 231, which moves him into 4th position).

Cool, June 27th doesn't conflict with anything!

Hopefully you guys can get everything sorted out.
