TLMC's magnetic numbers

I had the ultimate p.i.t.a. removing the residue left from their square numbers - anyone else have this problem?

i tried lots of passive ways (washing, gently scrubbing) - nothing.

i finally had to use a cleaner and a cutting polish with a power buffer...ouch!

Do you guys have any idea what would cause this? am I a special case as my paint is new from June?

You mean from having the magnets on in the rain?

I think it's actually the wax getting somehow messed up by the water trapped between the magnet and the paint. I get this only on my hood, which is the only part of the car I wax regularly. Either that or it has something to do with the heat from the engine? Anyway paint cleaner (car polish) is the only way I've ever been able to remove it.

yeah, Russ had his numbers on the rear quarters though, maybe it was the wax cuz I got my car painted this spring too (but never waxed it) and haven't had any problems...
