So not to be left behind this year, we slapped a kraftwerks supercharger on to our the stock K20 in our Civic Si Sedan. Sasha at SG-motorsports tuned it last night and gave us a torque curve to die for:

10psi on the stock motor and stock compression? I don't know the K20 that well but are there any longevity issues running that much boost (I assume it comes in pretty quick too seeing as it is a supercharger)? Pretty good option for people if it is reliable.

Longevity issues? For the team from Honda? LOL (though I doubt it...)

It would be fun to do a comparo track drive between your badass STI and the ATR Civic. Just sayin'... :p

I'll volunteer to be test driver. Because you know that needs to remain a constant...Oh and I also have experience with driving turbo and supercharged cars :D

I've driven FWD (Acura RSX 160HP in GT3), RWD (Nissan 240SX 155HP in GT3) and AWD (WRX STI 295 HP in SGT3). With an AWD car it's easier to correct mistakes with the throttle, but with the stock suspension on the STI I got a lot of plowing in corners just as i did with the Acura (no camber adjustment with either car). Also the RSX's third gear was too tall to really haul the car and I would either bog in 3rd or hit the rev limiter in 2nd. The 240SX had a coilover suspension, was prone to brake lockup but much easier to point an shoot in corners (with 3.5 deg. negative camber). It never had enough power to loosen up the rear end on exit and thus it was seldom possible to correct some early turn-in mistakes with the throttle. Point is, each type of drivetrain has its challenges.

Nice. What class is the Civic running?

ATR civic will be in SGT1 this weekend. We have yet to put on a splitter and wing. It will move up to PREP as soon as we do.
I think it will be a bit lonely up there, not sure how many other competitors will be in those classes. :(

You are going to be lonely. In 2009, 2008 and 2006 there weren't any competitors in Prepared. In 2007 there were 2 competitors that came out once on different days.

You may have a better chance of competition in Improved or go all out in Mod.

Even SGT1 has few competitors (2009 - 0, 2008 - 22 competitor days, 2007 - 28 competitor days, 2006 - 27 competitor days).

Is David your second driver so you have some competition?

I think you mean it will go from SGT1 to Improved? (Prepared is above Improved).

Now the more important question, is that on R-comps, or Street tires? If that's with STREETS??!!

If you can convince Krispy to run Hoosiers, then he'd be in SGT1 with you ;). Or Adam. If I were still running my race car, it would also be in SGT1 this year (on Hoosiers).

See? It doesn't have to be such a "lonely" class after all! :D

Depending just how carried away I get, I COULD be in the SGT1 - Improved range next year. If I were to do that though, I'd sort of like to know there's going to be somebody else to play with (like the position you guys may be in right now).

If you end up in Improved, the only person who ever shows up for that class is Gord in his C6 Z06, but usually only once a season.

You guys might as well run MOD ;).

Sorry, IMPROVED is the next step up with wing and splitter. PREP is a bit of a ways off...?! Not sure if we can make enough power to get there... ;)

There will always be 2 drivers on the car as usual, Dave, Bryan, or myself. Its gonna get the crap kicked out of it as usual.

We are running non-premium Rs this year, Advan A048. Its a trailered car, so why bother with streets when we want to go fast!

The block is entirely stock, this power level shouldn't cause any problems over the course of a season. K20 is built strong, you might be surprised what it can handle.

We had hoped to have more done to it by now, but since our office has moved and the shop construction behind schedule, we've been working in the parking lot for the past month. :( Very ghetto.

probably easier than working in here:o

ya, I actually fit my car in there:D and ya, some how I did an engine swap:confused:

Good luck to everyone this weekend. Hope to be at TMP in a few weeks if I can get my car back together in time.

In where? Is that the car hiding under that thing, beside the other thing, in front of the step stool?? :D

That's funny, Bram ... you made me LOL!!! :D

Regular R's, and still SGT1? You know, you could run Streets again, and try to fight Krispy for the SGT2/overall title ;).
