I finally got around to doing the CASC version of the WOSCA fall series, which was held under CNAC rules. If you see a miss-classed car let me know, but I'm pretty sure I weeded out all the cars I wasn't sure about.

The CASC version is only available in excel format. Both can be found linked here: http://www.wosca.com/results.htm

My personal observations:
-the Mini... well you all know what I think about that one.
-Either the WRX or the Mustangs and Camaros have to move. Daniel has shown that the current pax for ESS isn't out of wack at all, for the WRX. But there is no way the american arm-chair warriors can keep up. And if you move the WRX then the class needs a new pax.

Also note that although the competition was closer under CASC. There were a GLUT of BSS cars as usual. The CNAC system had much more even class distribution.

You did this at 5AM?? Up late tuning the car??

I would like to understand how the cars were put in the same class in the first place.

It is my understanding that the CNAC is based on SCCA yet the cars are in different classes in SCCA.

What were the deciding factors to put the cars together up here? Was this done in 2002 and do the last two years of statistics support the classifications as correct (meaning close)?

I have not been able to find a club running CNAC rules that has had both cars showing up. The only results I have found are the WOSCA series and the HADA test day.

Anyone know what the car classifications are based on?

Doug, my guess is that the SCCA didn't have the car classed fast enough and people were bringing them out. So CNAC took their best guess based on pax factors. The pax factor actually seems good. Daniel demonstrated that. Although I'm a little less competitive under CNAC, the positions were still pretty close.

It's sad because it's true :(

The STI just spanked the SVT in the latest hotrod mag as well.

I'd be interested in seeing how I placed with the CASC rules... but it seems there's a few missing times (or did you only recalculate the members?).

Derek.

I only recalculated the people who's CASC classes I knew. Or more correctly I stopped when I reached one I didn't know. I went down and included a few members in V8's for comparison.
