It looks to me as if the cab is designed to be a self contained caged capsule which can be detached in a direct hit like this. If so, it certainly did its job well.

Apparently Christiano DaMatta runs the same series. The better question is, why wouldn't you race everything you can. Indycars, karts, big rigs, swamp bugggies...

Didn't anyone else find it mildly amusing that they were interviewing Bruno ON THE TRACK amongst all the rescue vehicles almost the instant that he walked away from the truck??

Yeah, noticed that. Not something that is done in North American racing at all. I'm amazed how many people are on the track in short order. There's like a hundred people around by the time he gets out.
