any more details on that?
awesome that we were able to land a Mosport big track weekend in August! And I'm personally really happy to see an even number of events being required for maximum points. This should make it more feasible for a greater number of competitors to compete in the required 6 events, rather than having to make it out for a fourth weekend.
Good stuff! :)

Congratulations to Christian for securing this wkend. I expect this will become fully subscribed very quickly and one of our main issues will be to decide at what level to limit entrants. No doubt a waiting list will be needed. Be warned that a number of non Solo people have expressed great interest in this event already. And who could blame them? Even the timing is perfect.

For the record, why is the big Mosport day considered a "demonstration event" rather than a full competitive event?

My guess is that since most people will be novices on it, we don't want to have people out-driving their abilities to get good points :)

Yeah, let's hear some more detail about the Mosport Grand Prix event and also about event #11.

Will a CASC racing license be required for the demonstration event?

We won't be doing door-to-door racing, so a reace license is not required.
Now, since this won't be a points event, and is mainly a school, the question is - Is a Basic License required?

What club is organizing the weekend?

Guys , we just found out that we got the track so hold off on expecting all the details to be fixed by this early date. There will be a committee looking into how we plan to run the wkend and already there have been lots of ideas put forward. BTW all of the OSO clubs will be expected to be involved with the running of this wkend. OTOH put it in your date book as you will NOT want to miss this wkend.
i would hope that this weekend will be offered to solo 1 members first..then solo2....then anyone else who wants to come out....correct?

Adam , I can't imagine that preference won't be given to presently running Solo 1 drivers. After all it is a Solo 1 event even if it doesn't count for points. It may be enough to get the fence sitters to decide to register for a few events earlier in the season or risk losing out on what will likely be a great wkend. Last year we had something like 140 different Solo 1 competitors and I would guess most of them would like to be at this event. To be fair to all we will have to limit the # of entrants but I'm not sure at what number. You should know that already a bunch of non Solo people have expressed interest in this wkend.

I assume preregistering for the mosport weekend won't need to be done untill the sign up day?.Just want to make sure I don't miss out on this one!

Registration will open at the Open House - CSC Racing - March 28th.
We will be limiting the number of competitors to make sure that people get a chance to get their runs in. This event will sell out!
Details will be coming over the next while, but we are looking at a 2 day event. Saturday will be a school format with point-by passing and instructors in car until signed off. Sunday morning will start off with a final track session with instructors, then 2 timing sessions - warm-up lap, 3 hot laps, cool down lap.
Watch for more details as we start organizing!
