405hp and no traction control in the rain, see for yourself. I really have no clue how I didn't go off at the end of the Fabi straight, thank goodness for the last three feet of less slippery pavement/curb!:eek:

engine note tells the story, but you'll need crank it up to hear. :o

Ya looks like that last piece of pavement really stuck. Must've been frustrating on the beginning of the straights.

Busy hands and feet for sure. Was the camera loose or is SMP long track really that rough?
Anyhow, as some people say, your worst day at the track is still better than you best day at work. Nonetheless I'm happy I missed Event #8. With three wet track days at Mont Tremblant and MIR combined this season and I've had my fill of "practicing" the wet line on long tracks.

I saw that! They were getting ready to deal with Ujjwal getting held up by you (when we had no time to waste at all) but you were right back on it :D

Only a Mustang driver would try something like that!
he he.. yeah But we all know AWD is not an advantage in our rule set :)
since the AWD cars get to claim the benefits of the weight of the AWD system...however dont cliam any PIPS for the advantage of the extra 2 drive wheels :)
rain and your car sucks....the high torque makes them very hard to drive in the wet

Really??? Hmmm....how good is ORF at shoehorning a transfer case and front diff into a Mustang? Oh wait, only a Mustang driver would ask that...:p

Salmaan, if you had somebody else do the work, no problem, but if ORF did the job, I'm sure it would be "illegal" in SoloSprint ;). Nothing but a bunch of hacks there :p.
I was thinking about actually making a 4wd variant of the 240sx, using a skyline crossmember with its AWD and hooking up a transfer case...
that would be sick..and it would add maybe 120-200lbs that you would be able to just claim as extra weight :)
since of course AWD does not help you accelerate :)

Adam, just put a sprocket on the front and rear axles and run chains like a bicycle. Easy peasy, you won't even finish a case of beer before that's done.

How about some wheelhub mounted motors and a battery pack. After all, it just needs to last 3-4 laps, only required on corner exit, after that rear traction *should* be good enough to plant the rest.
Wonder if the PIP structure accounts for electric motor addition...a discussion for Solosprint CCC 2015, hehe.

How about, twin-engine, AWD Corvette?
Has to be painted black though. Corvettes only come in black .

salmaan - wheels are free :) (and you'd get the claim the extra weight :))

The advantage of having less than 100 whp is evident in the rain. We're running on our very tired R1Rs. The knocking that you hear in the background is our swaybar - a connector had turned 45 degrees so it's way off.
Grab some popcorn, cause this is a long video.

My god Frank, I think you can buy software that allows you to edit the raw video down to the exciting bits.:)
Nice driving Chris. I was at TMP last weekend and did about 3hrs in the rain. What a blast; worked on some drifting skills but no video:(
Spliced this together from Shannonville to illustrate what happens when you add oil to water. Glad I stayed on the track.
