I'm planning on going to the oct 17th rally cross event in bancroft. Although I senselessly beat on my tercel day in day out, have done a ton of vigorous off roading with it, i'm just wondering if i should really worry about the roads on these rallyx courses being rough. I plan on bringing spare wheels, and throwing on a decently tough skid plate if i have time, and i'm also going to raise the car an inch or so with coilovers this week in preparation.

Any warning or advice would be great!

tubing the tires was the best thing we ever did

Having tubes in my tires and pressure up high, still didn't stop the tire popping off the bead. Guess it works 50/50.

I ran a set of michelin x-ice at 50 psi on my car all day and didn't have a single tire pop off. Car must be light enough to not put too much stress on the sidewalls?

It just depends how you are sliding and if you catch a rut the wrong (right?) way. At the Sept. rally-X the course was run backwards and there had to be 6 cars that all popped a bead on the last corner.

They all slid into a rut and pop!
