I mean, why do they think their stuff is golden and your doing them a favour selling them your stuff?

I am selling my spare 340 mopar, fresh quality rebuild with all bills to prove, never even fired. Its rebuilt as stock with better bearings and rings, and a better valve job. Its been built by a shop that specializes in circle track and race boat motors. Its an honest 300hp motor that I am asking $2000 for. I have almost that much in the rebuild.

Considering that 340's are getting $800 for a core motor and this is fully rebuilt, I think this is a bargain.

Some ass comes and looks the motor over and tells me how he used to buy them all day long is good running condition for $500 (when? 20 years ago?) and he will be nice enough to offer me $1200 for the rebuilt motor.

"Hey," he says. I can buy a rebuilt 350 chevy for $1250 and get it built my way."

Fine. That is a 350 chevy. This is a 1973 340 Magnum. I tell him that $2000 is firm. He gets mad at me "for wasting his time". And starts yelling and carrying on like a fool, and how he is going to call the police on me for getting him out to Markham from Toronto under false pretenses. He wants to to reimburse him for his gas, and his time.

Considering I told him on the phone the price, and he wanted to come to my friends shop and look at the engine himself, I slammed the shops door in his face and told him to buy the chevy for his car.

Grrrrrrrr.....some people.

Sorry to hear you met one fine a-hole Rick,I'm not opposed to haggling myself for a decent deal-but I certainly wouldn't get that carried away!!

300HP?

Would it fit in a BMW?

I'll give you $1,300. Can you bring it around so I can see it?

:p

Sorry. I'm having fun myself buying and selling stuff on the web. Great way to market - if you can filter out the crap.

I can make it fit into a BMW :D

There are a couple of guys who stuck a 500ci caddy into a BMW, a 320 I think. It fit. Sorta.
