View Full Version : 92 Civic Track Car Suspension - questions and asking for suggestions

The track car is coming along nicely. My first project is the suspension. Progress so far:
Springs – Neuspeed race
Shocks – Koni Yellows
Anti Roll bar – Front – Stock SI bar (wreakers)
Anti Roll bar – Rear – 22mm Suspension technique (stealing it from my autoX car)

Still to purchase: Energy Suspension Hyperflex kit & Aftermarket Rear Anti Roll bar Breaks Kit (pending).

How does this setup look?
Do I need to purchase the front SI control arms to be able to mount the SI anti roll bar on my CX hatchback?
Is the Breaks Kit really necessary?
The ITR rear anti roll bar…can I use it and if so, what will it take to set it up? (I hate to steal parts from the other car if I can get the ITR bar from the wreckers for $100)

*edit- it’s been suggested (Dave) that I used the front springs in the rear and the rear springs in the front. However, the rear spring are not shaved flat on the top of the spring like the front springs are…will this cause a mounting issue?*

Thanks,

You will need the Si Front LCA's to mount up a factory front Si swaybar.

If your springs are not linear and/or you do not have height adjustible perches on your shocks, you won't be able to get an even ride height front to rear because of the free length and progressive spring rate built into the springs. With adjustible perches and linear rate springs, you can tailor the spring rate, ride height and front to rear stagger to achieve some amazing results.

I would put these at the top of my shopping list :)

Also you did not mention camber adjustment. I would highly recommend the Skunk2 front upper control arms to provide camber adjustability.

The Beaks kit is a MUST to strength the inboard swaybar attachment points to prevent damage to your car. With the beaks kit, you will be able to use the ITR rear swaybar without the fear of tearing your rear subframe. To mount up the ITR swaybar, you'll also need a set of 92-93 Civic EX-V rear LCA's or 94-01 Integra (RS/LS/GS) rear LCA's.

The Koni Yellows have adjustable perches but I’m not sure if the Neuspeed springs are linear. I didn't find that info on their website. Can I still use them if they have a progressive spring rate?

BTW, thanks for the info on the swaybars!

The Neuspeed "Race" springs are progressive rate.

Is there a distributor for Beaks subframe reinforcement kit in the GTA?
