This forums system to move!

That's right, CASC-OR will take over this forum system in 2004 and it will become the official CASC-OR discussion forum for all divisions (including Solo Ontario). Over the course of the next few weeks we will move the forums over to the CASC-OR web site and modify it for more extensive use. Each division will have its own moderation abilities (as I understand it at present).

Your eyes do not deceive you, it's all been changed dramatically.

I don't know how involved I'll be, yet. However, Solo Ontario has owned the software for some time and it will move to CASC-OR.

The layout of it will be almost identical to it as it is now. This was a decision made by CASC-OR and Solo Ontario directors as I understand it.

Personally, I think it's a good idea provided it doesn't become overly restrictive. Who will be appointed moderator/s for the various forums I don't yet know.

I think it's a great idea to consolidate all of CASC-OR's disciplines onto a single messageboard. This should help create more a community among all go-fast crackpipe addicts, from Solo 2 right on up to Touring GT.

Oh I agree. I think it's a great idea to consolidate. It especially didn't make sense to run the "official" CASC forums on a BMW message board that belonged to a club who I don't think was CASC affiliated (but I could be wrong). Bygones.

I guess I'm just a bit warry due to CASC's past performance in regards to Net related things. On the other hand we've got Rob McCauley looking after it and he's a techno dude. On the other hand (yes I have three hands) he's an IBM/Lotus dude. Shudder. Nuff said.

Either way, I wanna give a BIG thank you to Steve for founding, hosting and looking after the Solo forums for all these years. Thank you SOOOO much Steve.

Adam, Solo 1 is part of CASC, so that would be like trying to sell connectors from your sales department to your head office.

each group is its OWN profit center.....why should solo 1 front the bill for other activities? while our series is starving for cash and taking losses? we already pay enough fees to CASC ...no?

so then...assuming that this type of board was CASC's responsibility from the start then they should be reimbursing SOLO 1 , for the outlay of expenses for running this board for the last few years with solo 1 monies.....no?

or if this was not CASC's responsibility then what benifit to solo 1 do we get by clumping us with all the other race series boards?

Actually Adam, CASC-OR has always owned the software, it was paid for by CASC-OR, while I was the Solo I Director.

With all the new things going on a CASC-OR and with the new site, the way things used to be done have chnaged dramatically.
We will still want to appoint people to become the division moderators if they wish to do so, it's just that now we'll have control of the forum.

Adam, it's too bad you actually have no clue.Get Chris to break it down for you again, who & what the OSO is and what CASC-OR Solo I is and then you'll understand who pays for what.

CASC-OR/Solo I has paid for the lease of the software from KOS. We will continue to lease/buy the software if wee must from KOS as part of our commitment to our Divisions. It just makes economic sense to have one forum for all our divisions.

Go to the Solo I meeting tonight, ask Chris, he has all the info. It was most likely presented at the year end meeting when the profit/loss statements were read. In fact it was tabled the year before when Chris set the levy fees for 2003.
