Ecclestone injured in London mugging
By Steven English Friday, November 26th 2010, 10:15 GMT
Bernie Ecclestone was mugged in central London on Wednesday evening, suffering a head injury in the attack.
The 80-year-old Formula 1 commerical boss and his girlfriend Fabiani Flosi were jumped by four men outside the Knightsbridge offices of his Formula One Holdings company.
Ecclestone was kicked and punched before his attackers escaped with around £200,000 worth of jewellery, according to media reports.
A police statement said he was taken to a west London hospital for treatment and was later discharged.
"There were no reports of any other injuries," it continued. "The items stolen are believed to be a quantity of jewellery."

"What goes around comes around"
Why did he and his girlfriend beat up and rob somebody and take their money and jewellery?

Funny timing with his downplaying the incident a few weeks ago in South America with Button.

On a more positive note the organisers of the Valencia Grand Prix say they expect to reduce the cost of running the event by about £200,000 next year.

A few weeks ago Bernie seemed to have a clear idea of what causes such incidents. He said:
“I think they look for victims who are not too bright; all the people who have been robbed seem to be people outside the top ten of the grid - maybe that’s what they target, I don’t know.”
Further, he is reported to have said:
“They look for victims, they look for anyone that looks like a soft touch and not too bright,” Ecclestone said. “The people that look a bit soft and simple, they will always have a go at.”

So what, he is shopping for a new girlfriend?

Bernie Ecclestone was kicked unconscious by his muggers and on Saturday was sporting a very badly bruised eye.
The 80-year-old F1 chief executive told British newspapers his minor injuries are "painful" but he is "ok" after a group of men attacked him whilst outside his office with his girlfriend in London.
"I'm feeling it now, bit painful, it was a good whacking," said Ecclestone.
"When I was on the ground I could hear Fabiana (Flosi) screaming for help and I took a kick or two in the head and went unconscious," he revealed.
"When I came to there was blood everywhere from my head wound but I was lucky.
"It was completely stupid and uncalled for. If they had confronted me and asked for everything we had, I would have handed over everything in my pockets, my wallet, anything," said Ecclestone, adding that the muggers "ripped" the earrings from his girlfriend's ears.
He said reports that the Hublot watch taken from his wrist was worth more than $300,000 is "bollocks".
Ecclestone's daughter Tamara condemned the "hideous" attack but said her dad has already returned to work.
"It takes a lot to throw my dad off," she told the Evening Standard. "I spoke to him this morning and he is in good spirits."
Where is Peter Windsor? I wonder what he thinks of this:D

Ecclestone puts a spin on mugging
By Jonathan Noble Tuesday, December 7th 2010, 09:42 GMT
Formula 1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone has proved the trauma of his recent mugging has not affected his sense of humour, or commercial nous, after making light of the incident in a new shock advert for watch brand Hublot.
Ecclestone suffered a head injury after being kicked and punched in the attack outside his London offices last month - with the assailants getting away with around £200,000 worth of jewellery.
But rather than hide away about the extent of his injuries, Ecclestone has used the incident to front a new ad campaign for Hublot - which is an official watch partner of F1.
In adverts that are due to appear in the Financial Times and the International Herald Tribune later this week, Ecclestone adorns the advert with a face shot of his injuries - under which is written: "See what people will do for a Hublot."
Ecclestone returned to work the day after the attack, brandishing a heavily bruised right eye.

why not? I would feel sorry for you if you got your ass beaten, for a couple second.
So,
Bernie and his GF come out of his office, without a body guard .
He gets a beat down and looses a watch.
His GF is left untouched ?
Things that make you go Humm ?
