Scion Test Drive

This all got started when I spotted a Facebook posting by Scion Canada -

Hmmm, an opportunity to "lend" me a Scion? Sounded like it was a little more substantial than a 15 minute test drive. Sure, maybe I'm not a trendsetter (I mean what kind of trend could I be at the forefront of??) - after all, Scion is aiming at Gen Y - but I figured it was worth a shot.


So I fired off an e-mail and much to my surprise I received a reply. Scion Canada was starting up their grassroots marketing campaign. Basically, all I need to do is Twitter, Facebook, talk to friends - that type of thing - and they'd lend me an xB. Very cool!

So the good news is that I'm picking up an xB later this week to drive for a few days! What a great opportunity! I have been thinking about purchasing an xB and this will be an excellent way to feel it out. I'll be using a blog to update anyone who wished to follow along, posting photos, video and providing my impressions of the xB. In particular, will I be able to autocross this car?

Picked up the xB yesterday. Nice little car with decent power. Very easy to drive. My initial impressions are here:

Wow, Scion has decided to lend me an xD for a few days. Picked it up last night and so far, it has really impressed me. Decent power and handling for a car of this size. It really has reawakened my love of small cars. You can follow my drive at http://bit.ly/sciontestdrive

Just a quick update on the test drive - I'm enjoying this car far more than I thought I would. Turns out to be a spunky little fella. Well, I returned the Scion xD after my test drive. I was actually a little sad to see it go. It was a fun little car - a car that proved the old saying that "It's more fun to drive a slow car fast, than a fast car slow." The xD really exceeded all my expectations. Toyota is building some fine cars, at reasonable prices, with their Scion brand. Check out my full review:
