An extensive history of CASC results has been given to the Canadian Motorsport Hall of Fame archives. These results are in a 'pallet' of boxes at CMHF offices in Toronto. I inquired about getting access and was told that the results needed to be scanned before general access is possible.

A couple of possibilities seemed like a solution.

1. Since the documents are in the Toronto area, a group of maybe 10 enthusiasts from Toronto could team up to do the job on a typical one page at a time scanner. I am in Ottawa, so this would be difficult for me to organize.

2. A 50 page a minute scanner could be purchased by or on behalf of CMHF for the purpose (approx cost $700). I suggested that a plea for support could be put on this forum, possibly with a link to a paypal account. Count me in for a donation if this happens.

3. Perhaps someone in the Toronto area has access to a high speed scanner and would like to organize or take on the task.

Please, if you have other constructive suggestions or ideas for this project jump in.

Thanks

Paul MacDonald

Paul. It may be a good idea to link this to posts on other forums and the General Discussion forum. I don't think folks here would be upset much about a little bit of spamming. ;)

Thanks John

I have linked to the general discussion area and sent an email to CMSHG. Any other specific forums?

Would there be any CASC rulebooks for 87-89 in those boxes?

I have no idea what is in the boxes, I was told it was a donation from Bob Brockington.

It sure seems a shame that no one wants to step forward on this. Autocourse.ca has a lot of Quebec results and a very limited bit of Mosport. No one has Shannonville and the rest of CASC-OR. This looks like a chance to have all results available, a unique opportunity.

The CASC clubs organising race events (Region Events) are required to submit, and do so, all race results to the CASC office.
The results are also sent to CASC as a part of the Stewards' Report on each race event.
So CASC should possess file cabinets of results.
Sorry that this does not answer the problem of scanning them but here is a source of ALL CASC race events.

Good luck in your efforts, We should actively retain our history.

If someone can send me the documents, I'm ready for this new challenge and put them on www.autocourse.ca. The FSAQ ask me to add some info’s on www.autocourse.ca and scan all there documents. I started with 1975 in October, and I just finish 1987.

We have some CASC-ON Honda, FF1600 and Touring results online

Thanks for the offer Dominic, very generous.

I have sent an email to CMHF and will let you know what happens.

Your website is terrific, love the results but especially the pictures throughout the years. A real service to everyone. I did find pictures of my car on your site.

Hi Dominic

Gave the CMHF a call and asked about your proposal. Seems CMHF is in the process of updating and adding new material to their site, targeted for this spring and would like to keep the documents ready for that purpose. This means that they would like to have the scanning done locally and are looking for resources to accomplish that.

Also found out that CMHF also has all the CASC archive material that Bill Lobban mentioned above, in addition to the material that was recently donated.

So, still looking for any resources such as space or scanner and/or assistance in Toronto area. If anyone can help with any of this please let me know and I will connect you with the proper people at CMHF.

Thanks
Paul

I have all the CASC contact information and contacted Deb last year. They were unable to help.

I am already a group member of the CMSHG but you had said you were in touch with the CMHF. I was hoping for a contact there.
