Anyone here run NT01's on a RWD heavy car? How do they work...also for track days. Was considering just replacing my V710's with new ones but recent comments on the NT01 have me considering them instead.
Thanks

I've heard that for autoslalom they tend to not heat up fast enough. That is all hear say though, I've never run them before.

You might want to put this in the Race Tuning and Information section.
I know of 2 guys who ran NT-01s in SoloSprint this past year and they are right near the top of my list for next year. And yes, my car is plenty heavy enough to get just about any tire up to temp quickly (although maybe not on an AutoX course)

I run (lapping) the Nt-01 on my TT G35.
Takes a while to get to the good meat in them but I love them. They almost turn into a slick...
Great bang for buck tire that last.

I plan to use them this year. Depending on the venue and outside temp, they may not heat up to optimum, but a heavy car will help. Besides, you don;t want somethign too soft when you get to events like picton which took a set of nearly full tread RA1's and turned them onto slicks in two days!!!!

Thats good because they are the exact same compound as the RA1 and probably the best kept secret in racing....until now.
We'll be running them all season this year.

My supplier in Montreal tells me they are RA1's. More people are beginning to use them in road racing too.

I will be running my turbo RX7 on these tires in the GT Sprints this coming season and from what I have learned/heard through the RX7 forums is they are a great traction/wearing tire. The other thing I was told by a tire supplier in the States is that the NT01 is an 888 case and a RA-1 tread compound.
I guess I'll see what they are like in May!!

I got mine through Discount Tires Direct. A pair of each of 225/45/15 and 205/50/15. $560US with free shipping to Buffalo. Pick them up at a US address mailbox rental. When all is said and done with duty, taxes, mailbox rental and gas to drive to Buffalo, $650CAN. This price can't be beat anywhere.

^^ I do this as well. Its very hard for a Canadian supplier to match that kind of pricing.
I ship mine to Ogdensburg, NY, UPS Store.

I may be dreaming, but I thought I remember seeing a post here suggesting there may be a group buy on NT01's......?

There was, but I think it was removed after the Toyo deal was announced?
