I'll likely be at the autoslalom school that day. Can't make it to the open house. Still series registering though. Dibs on number 42.

You should put the front cover on that engine, plenty easy for a stone to go thru the the pully and ruin your day.

Btw unless you have HUUUUGE money to make NA power with the 4ag it'll still be slow unless you add boost.Been there done that kinda comment so don't hate.;)

Yes there will be a cover for the belts, as much as I would love to show off everything thats under there. This is just the old engine being used for mock up & fabrication of brackets & lines etc etc.
As for N/A power, no "hate" taken max attack. Secondly I'm hoping that what I've built should put me pretty decent. 170ish Hp. Lots of care & consideration has been taken in the development.

max attack
03-18-2011, 08:21 PM
That 170ish hp sounds pretty optimistic,I'd love to be proven wrong though. What comp ratio and cams?,which head big or small port?.

Heading to the dyno?Love to see the #'s,tell me the above parts and I'll take a guess and see how close I get.:)

Mr2Rob

Planning to move to C-mod as well, if allowable. Based on last year's numbers in the class, should be a fun year.

dhall0519
03-20-2011, 10:41 AM
engine specs: 4th gen block/crank/rods
ARP studs for head & mains, bolts for rods
(they don't make power but certainly give security)
cam 9.2 mm with 272 duration
TRD carbonfiber h/d gasket
Toda cam gears
TRD GpN big port head port/polished for midrange power
Cyl head C/C out & engine will have 11:87:1 comp
TRD springs & retainers
ITBs from silvertop controlled by Autronics standalone Ecu.
As for the dyno scheduled to go in next month.

max attack
03-20-2011, 10:51 AM
Sounds like a good combo, for midrange I probably would've used a massaged small port with the 272's but this combo should get you close to your goal.It without a doubt will sound wicked with the itb's.:D

Btw what do you expect to rev it too?.

dhall0519
03-20-2011, 05:46 PM
power should start to drop off around 7800 so I'll probably set rev limit to 8000 to 8500

Jsut a general and perhaps a silly question. My WOSCA membership expired because I didn't do any racing last year. For the PITL series do I need to renew my WOSCA membership or join any associated clubs with CASC? Or, can I just join PITL without a club membership?

CASC affiliation is not required to enter our series.

If you would like to become an MSOC member for your CASC affiliation, you can speak to Darryl at the open house or any of our events.

Sadly, none of the above - nowhere to put a child seat. I did manage to prove I could use a 2-door Scion tC as a family car, though - http://sciontestdrive.blogspot.com/2011/03/sunday-drive-in-scion-tc.html

wink, wink, nudge, nudge - "Hey honey, I think we should get a tC." Don't think that would go over too well.

More likely than not, given my blind devotion to Toyota products, it'll likely be a Scion xB (http://sciontestdrive.blogspot.com/p/2011-scion-xb-my-review.html) with all the TRD suspension goodies (needed for my sanity). B-Mod for me. I'm sure those watching the "toaster" run around the course will have some cutting comments. ;)

Not sure of the timing though, depends on when I sell the Celica, so maybe I'll still have it for the first event.

Stumbled across the recently enlarged Maple Go Station parking lot today. It's quite large, and it isn't littered with those little yellow posts. Couple of issues, perhaps - 1) proximity to residential area on the west side of the tracks and 2) it has quite a slope to it, though it may create interesting challenges.

Google Maps doesn't currently show the extent of the lot so I highlighted it. Anyone ever look at this lot? No trains running on weekends here.

Thanks for the suggestion Todd, I've sent it over to Darryl to look into. Given the residential area across the street I'd say the prognosis isn't very good but it never hurts to ask.

If you haven't been to our site recently, you may want to pay it a visit and see what's up with the series for this year ;)

Also, we are looking for 2 or 3 able-bodied folks to help us out for the season. Arrive early, help with setup, registration and maybe even design a course or two, hang out under the tent and do some timing or starting duties for the day and help us tear-down at the end. There ARE PERKS to this job ;)

Drop me a PM if you're interested and can commit yourself for the season.

If I had to guess I would say June 11. It's the 11th on the flyer - http://www.wiredmotorsports.com/pitl/pdf/pitl-2011-series-flyer.pdf

It's also the eleventh on a different page on the site - http://www.wiredmotorsports.com/pitl/seriesinfo.html

The V.I.P. class is an invitation-only class comprised of local media, celebrities and emergency services personel to who come out for the day and drive spec-cars.

The last time we used the class was in 2007 at the Brampton pro-slalom.

Totally pumped for the season. My brand new suspension is complete!!! Bye bye K-Sports. I can't wait to take it out for a test and get it set up properly. It's been a number of months to collect the parts, and build it and get it installed. It's an odd setup but I'm hoping that the time and effort will be worth it. I'm using koni yellows with ground control coilover springs(approx 375lbs front, and 550lbs rear). To get camber up front now I had to slot the towers. Oh man, I'm so excited. Anyone want some K-Sport Kontrols for cheap? :)

Run groups: sometimes yes, sometimes no. We'll see what the turnouts are like.

You won't be alone in the Scion. Check the series' website ;)

As for classing, assuming that catalog of parts doesn't include a supercharger you should end up in B-Mod. List the mods and I'll confirm it for ya.

TRD doesn't make a supercharger...unfortunately!

Here's a brief overview of the mods for help with classing...

- TRD Big Brakes
- TRD Lowering Springs
- TRD Strut Tower Brace
- TRD CAI
- TRD Quickshifter
- Descendant Racing Cat-Back
- Enkei RPF1 18x9.5" with 255/40R18 Advan AD08's (all around)

There's more, but that's the stuff that matters anyways.

From my observation, it's still B-Mod, but correct me if I'm wrong.
